Been wanting to use this set up on my boat, Question, how does system handle the shift interrupt sequence? Most fuel Ing system's recover from a misfire with a high idle and then return to the set idle speed. have you encountered this problem if so, how did you overcome it. Thanks for any info.
@FlatThunder
@FlatThunder Күн бұрын
This system was only tested a few times. It needs a few more tests / adjustments to fully dial it in and answer with confidence. You are correct, upon engaging / disengaging it bumps the idle up to prevent a stall. I adjusted the IAC settings on the unit in an effort to reduce the speed up. The system allows access to the gain settings on ramp up and ramp down on the IAC. I attempted to reduce the rate at which it ramps up and increase the rate at which it ramps down off high idle. I contacted Jeg's to see if they had an optimal set of settings for this application and they do not. They did tell me I was on the right path with making adjustments and this system doesn't have a complicated idle 'chasing' system some of the more expensive units have. Thanks for watching! 👍😁

Nice job on the install Andy. I honesty would have just found a good quadrabog guy to rebuild the old carb. Just FYI marine applications are sometimes different from automotive. I've seen carbs and intakes machined at a slight angle lless than 90 degrees from the block to keep fuel levels in the carb correct when the boat is getting out of the hole and trimming out on plane. Thanks for posting.

Good point, I never thought about a different intake to compensate for boat ride angles. This customer wanted the smooth easy starts EFI provides. I think they are going to enjoy its performance.
