Mexico storyline was really just for Johnny and Robby and it took Miguel away from Sam so that she could tell him she needs space herself when he comes back. That’s all. It really doesn’t add anything to Miguel’s story and was otherwise unnecessary to to bring in the dad who was a brief mention once in season 1. Oh , I guess it made for part of the great finale of season 4 also

Something else I was thinking for the final scene of the entire series, What if (in a reference to how Rocky 3 ended) we get a training sort of montage between Johnny & Daniel that ends with them standing not only on the beach but the very spot where it all began between the two & Johnny gets into a fighting stance & Daniel gets into a Crane kick & right as they were (playfully) about to go at it, it cuts to black. In hector's case I think it was A slight kind of background to y miguel's mom did what she had to do and not really more than that. Miguel finds out his father is not A respectable character. And can now officially feel a part of johnny's family

Yesterday on Reddit, somebody posted a picture of the writers and William Zabka and Ralph Macchio in front of South Seas apartment, where Daniel and his mother lived. I bet it is the final scene of the series. I think It will just be those two, probably reminiscing and talking about their relationship, and perhaps jogging off into the sunset together and that will end the series.

For a way to bring Hector back, how about this? Silver gets out of jail looking for revenge. He doesn't know Hector (too unrealistic) but because he did his research on Chozen and Barnes, its not implausible that he would start looking for weaknesses on Johnny and find out about Hector/Carmen. He'd then tip him off as a way to cause trouble.
