Is this not a case of defense of dwelling under Missouri law? 563.031: 2.(3): "Such force is used against a person who... attempts to unlawfully enter private property that is owned or leased by an individual." Its 10 pm at night, the man is 84 years old. And if there is racial animus, why not charge a hate crime? In addition the doorbell ringing is still in question. If Yarl is pulling at the locked screen door (as many of us would to check to see if our door was locked), it could easily be perceived to be someone trying to forcibly enter the home. This segment just seems entirely dismissive of any innocence that ought to be presumed in this case.
