So, what we have in total: - Main concept of this game devs want to realize - is DW5. They call it "Back to the Roots". - Only one playable and non-costomizable character (some famous officers can be played temporary in battles) - About 20 Weapons with unique gameplay and new combos modifications. - No new characters, Jin characters, "Kids of famous officers" characters, Xiao Sisters etc. - No multiplayer. - No "Flashy atmosphere", creative weapon concepts and characters from DW8. Devs want to make a ROTK with the Wo Long gameplay from the whole DW series. - "Not adding characters considering adding character quantity is no longer the selling point." - from 4Gamer interview. So, they will not make 100+ characters with the 100+ unique signature weapons even in future. - Game will be only about deep story and deep and tactical gameplay. So, no more meditative croud chopping. Archers will be pain in the a-word. Shielders will be pain in the a-word, etc. - Duels will be the thing Well, guess i`m going back to my old good DW8XL and WO4U.

I dont know why they said its not 1 vs 1000 anymore. He just k.o.'d 12 in a single slash, Guan Yu k.o. count went from 150ish to 600is in one minute, and the peons are just bunch of roombas. IDK man

I know I'm a year late to the party, but I distinctivley remember watching the 2008 Beijing Olympics with my parents & the DW6 music was playing in the background of the program. I think it was during one of the water events. It may have played for more events, but I only watched a few.

Love the aesthetic of this game. Reminds me of SW1 DW4 vibes of gritty, serious warfare. Should have always kept that serious tone. Hope you can grind for legendary weapons like the old games!

DW3 was my first and favorite dynasty game. Getting Zhang He's fourth weapon when I was young felt so good.

For me 3 is the top one, obviously because it was also the first musou I did play back in 2001 (release date) being a 9 y.o kid. Fuck, loved that game, these graphics where AMAZING back then. Just got a steam deck to play them all lol

This is so damn crazy. I didnt like the direction they were going with the 1vs 1000 that they seemed to stick with since 7, but Im glad they noticed that and now bring us 1000 vs 1000 which felt even more epic. Sieging gates across arrows, catapults, and enemy generals musou-ing felt crazy af.

look great but when i heard detail about this game that’s you only play one nameless character without any customization clothes face and gender for whole game i mean what the f@#$& i hope this is just wrong information otherwise this will be bankruptcy.

I haven't played all of the Samurai Warriors games so I can't exactly be unbiased on it. I cam however compare Samurai Warriors 2 and 4. 2 was the first of the games I played when my home used to have a Family Video where we rent stuff when I was younger. I'm biased but it's my favorite of the game series as I fixated on Kotaro, Yukimura, Kanetsugu, and am very fond of Free Mode. Sugoroku, and Survival... Not a fan. While Sugoroku is somewhat fun as I use Kotaro for the mini games I felt it takes too long as you get random dice rolls or lose the advantage even if your chosen character is REALLY good which I think I mastered Kotaro to that point. Survival just a bunch of requests you have to fulfill for gold which is lackluster to me. I only did them for certain unlockables (Moon Child, Ranmaru, Okuni, some ultimate weapons). After that never touched them again. Empires was an accident rental but I found myself coming back to it which I fond of with character creation which what I will say is bad is that I can't make them more unique like a new weapon or appearance then a generic officer or bodyguard. XTreme Legends was a Christmas Gift, and I never got on it but it's basically a DLC but I enjoy it well with the new characters we can get on as though never tried Mercenary Mode. Samurai Warriors 4 though... I felt the combat is lackluster to me, the graphics are great, and fun to do but I don't like the character redesigns, and that it felt like the camera is a bit stiff or that the peons (as you call the grunts) seem to be really like bricks I don't know but when you hit them it felt different then 2. Never tried anything other then Story Mode but that's all the things I got. What killed me though was that there was no English dub, I hate that, I want to hear them talking in a language I understand subtitles sometimes aren't even enough if there is someone who can't read or never learned too playing it (even if that chance is unlikely (PS not intended to offend those people)) which they will never understand the personality of the characters or tactics the games are doing. Those are about all the complaints I can muster but I prefer Samurai Warriors 2 then 4 anyday of the week, and I have a still working PS2 to fo all three iterations of them.

At 9:22 Reminds me of Dw5 Empires Map where it lets you Station and tell Allies where to go. I have disdain for g4 tv review of that game because they dont tell you about its Features.

what fight was that with yuan shao? Yuan Shao vs Gongsun Zan? was that ever covered in a DW game before

Okay, couple things, 1, "OH NO ZHANG JIAO'S HOT!" (I think that's Zhang Jiao) 2, Man they did not change Yuan Shu that much, did they? 3, Is that Chen Gong at 9:11 all the way on the left!? 4, I genuinely said "Oh my gosh" out loud at 11:34 . This game actually looks pretty good, and I'm genuinely pretty excited for it. The first time I'm going to join in on the train for a new DW game, (I only started playing these games around the time DW9 Empires came out, and even then, I didn't know it was coming out) and it looks good.

The music is on point! Exactly what I expect from a Dynasty Warriors game.

Ok finally a dw game getting me exited. Been far too long. Loving the active soldiers. Makes me wonder their activity and damage on higher difficulty. Also the number of soldiers on screen is fantastic, now it really feels like a war is happening.

Why can't you costumize your character or play other characters since is called Dynasty warriors!! All other titles let you do that!!! Is crazy to ask full price for this game!!!!😢

SW2 Empires = the best warriors game, the best empires game, the best hack game, the best ps2 game and the only game I still play and the only game I play on my laptop (i install emulator only to play this game, none other)
