My first long reach pole saw was the ARS which was the best pole and blade set up, then I purchased the Barnell which was ok to save the ARS from getting abused, then I purchased a STIHL and that was my new second choice and the smaller extension slightly bent, but still operable, then I purchased this Bad Boy NOTCH and was actually thrilled that you could cut with it without flexing like the three previous aluminum poles, and the blade was supreme as well. I tried to get another one 4 about years ago and low and behold they're obsolete, what a big surprise like anything that's worth a F... these days it becomes unavailable. I just purchased a Castellari 19.68' carbon pole saw today Made in Italy so I'll see how it compares to the NOTCH when it arrives.

I got a MS390 saw it’s 20 years old and in brand new shape always worked so great starts up right away always ! Is it a good saw ? Did I buy a good one ? Must say I love the power and it slices through trunks like butter nothing like cutting down trees in the winter !

9:45 chain is sagging, way too loose

I’ve had mine 4 years now. I cut 15-20 cords a year with it. Best saw I’ve ever owned. Power to weight ratio is unmatched suckers a beast for cutting firewood

That saw was either tuned like shit or had an airleak or both I think. I actually think the power to weight on them isn't bad for a cheapo saw. I like a 025/250 better but pay 2x as much them too. I've played with a whole lot of cheap ass saws and I hate these poulans about the least actually. The seals don't seem to last great one them unfortunately though but they have real walbro carbs generally. I'd reach for one of these vs most the new shit off the shelf now w/ them trash chinese carbs. I bought a "nice" brand new craftsman years ago and it was aboslute fking trash w/ that chinese carb on it right from the factory which is sad because it looked like a nice saw otherwise.
