Why cant you just fix the Idle Gap at 1mm and Tune the Low Speed According to the Idle Gap ?
@invisiblespeedrc18 күн бұрын
Because it would be too big, and the engine would not run right. At idle the mixture would have to be too rich and all the fuel could not burn up, causing the engine to load up with fuel
@mrhover120219 күн бұрын
Great video just gone from racing e buggy to nitro and know nothing about them tbh and don't want to rely on ppl at the track to sort my car out this maybe a silly question but when setting the idol gap with the gauges do you do it with the venturi in the carb or without?
@teabagmcpick88920 күн бұрын
No, no, no, no, no, no. You almost touched on it at 2:30 but No! The engine has 3.5cc's and it revs at 50,000 rpm so it sucks that amount of air. The size of the venturi doesn't change the amount pf air the engine draws, it only changes the speed of the air through the inlet - which in turn has effect on the tune - but not much. A smaller venturi makes the engine feel punchier but it's a feel thing. The truth is capacity x rpm = air consumption. Bernoulli is your friend here because physics can't be cheated. Don't believe the hype.
@useless84421 күн бұрын
love the tuning but dont it make more sense to tune it under load aka on the ground ?

A bit hard to show you on video what to look for. But that’s included in the video too. Final tune is always based on track performance

You mentioned higher roll center causes the car to traction roll on smooth surfaces. On carpet what I find seems to be the opposite. If I remove shims from the front and/or rear inner ball stud mount, which raises the roll center, I notice the car rolls less and does not want to traction roll as easily. Unless I am misunderstanding what you said or other parts of my setup just work with the higher roll center Idk…
@invisiblespeedrcАй бұрын
High roll center (low links on inside) does make the car want to roll up and flip over. It depends on where they are to begin with, and the rest of your setup, but physics is physics. That doesn’t change.
