What other versions of the old fashioned are there and which do you recommend as the "must-try"? I believe you can do it with vodka, gin, dark rum, but is that correct? Also, can any be flavored, say, like with pomegranate, blood orange or blackberry juices or syrups?

@redFawcett That's the beauty of an Old Fashioned, it's a canvas to which you can add your own flavors and variations. Today, the most common version of the Old Fashioned is made with Bourbon, though we happen to be partial to Tequila. You can definitely try it with any type of spirit and see what you prefer. We love adding flavor in the form of syrups! We try to imagine what flavors might go well with the spirit we're using, so in the case of Patrón Añejo, it might be fun to experiment with something that compliments the flavors that develop with barrel aging. We love the idea of a vanilla syrup! If you're using a Patrón Silver, or something like a gin or vodka, you might want to try some more fresh citrus or herbal flavors. Let us know if you come up with something you really love!

I just got one of the Simpletaste Sphere molds. 1st set came out almost perfectly clear. I used warm water and turned my freezer down a little for the ones I have in there now. For the price you can't beat them.
