I take normal Mugwort tea before bed, and I have to add some kind of squeeze flavoring to override the natural flavor of he Mugwort. It just tastes like weed to me, but 100x more gross. Does this taste different?

There’s a place in Insadong that sold these on the street and they were amazing. Anytime I was ever in the Jongno area I would go out of my way to get some hotteok there. Thank you so much for this recipe.

Unless you're standing with your whole head inside a functioning microwave for a full day, you're fine.

I think this is correct but not everything harvard publishes should be taken as fact. It can be outdated or biased like anything. Ecspecially bc the feelings of superiority can be blinding

Microwaves and heat in general kill bacteria. They cook off less of the nutrients in your food than something harsher. I feel like the fear of microwaves, causing adverse effects comes from when they were still relatively new, and people didn’t understand them and likened them to something radioactive that could hurt your food. I think it’s important to not just take things through word of mouth or online misinformation. It’s kind of dumb in a way, why trust these random sources if you don’t know how the microwave works yourself. Find a reliable source and also do your own research so you fully understand if it’s something they actually worries you.

My main fear especially with meat and eggs is if the microwave is effectively killing any pathogens during cooking. The lack of evenness in cooking and deadspots (my microwave doesn't have the spinning dish) amplifies that fear. That little spot of quite raw looking meat would have me heating it for a few more minutes tbh. I got really bad food poisoning trying to cook eggs in my microwave once.

Hmmm I'm not sure if it will be as big in Amercia since it's not caffinated. It's unfortunate but I think the caffeine is what drives a lot of things unfortunately....

Mugwort can be mildly psychoactive for some people. In the “altered perception” sense, not “makes you see things that aren’t there” sense. Still, I wouldn’t drink it for the first time right before you have to drive or go to work.

Microwave food is bad for you when you buy it and it's just made for microwave. Like microwave lasagna. It's obvious though. No cooking manner harms you, but the things you eat do. Microwave is a life saver.

I literally just did an experiment where I’ve been talking to my plant and giving it love every day and didn’t to the other one and the one I didn’t talk to withered away in a week and the other one is literally thriving, which I haven’t been able to keep alive for more than one week ever, also playing classical music for your plants helps them grow it mimics the same sounds the birds make in the morning which help open the plants.

Why would I trust Harvard when they care most about diversity hiring nowadays? They’re not a reputable source. Microwaving is still horrible because of the radiation, cancers, and should be avoided as much as possible.

Science also deemed many things healthy and good - until they weren't. After a discovery or an invention are made, the research is often very partial and incomplete, tending towards presenting the invention, process or product as safe, and "better" than previous methods, knowledge. Then, years later because of tangential research or studies, it is "discovered" that the product was actually bad for you. So no, thanks. I don't like the taste and texture or microwaved food. It feels disturbed rather than cooked. And that's enough for me to not use one. My stove and oven are completely fine and do a great job. If all one has in a microwave- sure. Make do with what you have. But it's a no from me.
