Man. If you played a sample of Big Country and a sample of U2 in 1981 or '82 and asked 100 folks which group would be in residence in LV 40 years later and which group would be cherished nostalgically I'm sure 75 or more would say Big Country would have the 40 year career U2 would barely be playing county fairs.

Scotland produced some fantastic bands over the year's this band was one of them and my no1 band came out of Scotland simple minds

‘Why the Long Face’ is such a criminally under rated album, even amongst Big Country fans I suspect. So many great songs and amazing, in places beautiful, lyrics. Difficult to pick a favourite track.

Brilliant cover and as others have said a great solo....Big Country led by Stuart Adamson deserve to be better remembered, always a great kind bloke with the fans was Stuart and such a shame how his life was tragically cut short as he had more to give.

I love their early stuff but by this time it was all a bit bland and sounded like everyone else
