I never liked Sammy Hagar. As far as I'm concerned Van Halen ended when David Lee Roth left the Band. Sammy Hagar was a most undesirable spare tire. Insulting perhaps but true.

I fully understand Mr.Alex Van Halen's decision, and who could blame him, he just wants to be left alone about this, respect his decision. By the way, not to disrespect anyone, ok I'm going to, Joe Satrianni does not do any justice when it comes to Van Halen music, in his own right he should just stick to what he knows best, and stay away from VH music.

Probably because Sammy hijacked Van Halen and EVH’s best interests thru Ed Leffler and Michael Anthony. It’s all in Sammy’s book of excuses. Any contempt that Ed and Al have for these two douchebags is totally legit. ….And I don’t blame Wolfgang for distancing himself from these egomaniacs, either.

Sammy of course was and Is a better vocalist than Dave but cannot handle the FACT that the Roth era is the classic VH sound. He also can't accept that he was passed over for the reunion tours and album. It's not about vocal acrobatics and who has the higher range. It's about who is the right piece that makes up the right package. In the end, the VH brothers knew that it had to be Dave. Eddie told Nuno Bettencourt before he died that the last ever tour, the 'kitchen sink tour' was being planned with Dave and Mike Anthony so that the original band line up could "go out with a bang, the way they came in!" And now Sammy is just being a pest.

Dave sucked in the reunions. Let’s be real. It was embarrassingly bad vocals. Musically they were still great but Dave couldn’t sing himself out of toilet bowl.

And you obviously havent sat through the 1983 US Festival,? when he couldn't have sung any worse! Why can't the post 85' Hagar desciples grasp the bigger picture. Ronnie James Dio was a much better singer than Ozzy. Heaven and He'll is an incredible album but it's not the Black Sabbath sound. Those Van Hagar albums and songs are great. They also also allowed Eddie to experiment and get some keyboard frustrations out of his system with the sounds of the 80's and early nineties. But them sounds where part of a trend. The REAL Classic VH sound was what they wanted to give back to the fans and Wolf made his father realise there was only one man for the Job. Because that classic and REAL VH sound is not a trend, it's timeless. So maybe I'm not the one who needs to get real here buddy. P.s. I just watched both the last Hollywood Bowl 2015 gig last night and the recent Hagar tribute tour.i The last 2015 gig was Dave's best ever performance from start to finish. Then I watched some current Sam and Satriani footage and I wouldn't be too impressed with the vocals and sound.

It was out of my undivided natural kindness that I was willing to educate you that little bit more, just so that you could grasp the whole concept of a Band's sonic 'identity'. But you obviously didn't read it carefully. When are you Hagar-ites gonna realise that (in Eddie's own words), the brothers were into rock-n-roll, and Dave was into Motown and disco. That's why it worked. Dave Roth was never a rock singer. He was, for want of a better term, a jive ass, motown, soul, disco crooner who just yelped, screamed, yelled, screeched and above all, crooned his way through Rock songs like Rock music's very own rapper. He almost 'Talked' through those early Van Halen classic albums and that's the whole thing you people just cannot fathom. Sam and his desciples will always claim that Dave couldn't sing Sam's songs because of vocal range. But the reason why Sam could never sing or touch Dave's back catalogue is because of identity, personality and not having that sound. God willing the penny will drop for you after this comment. If not, I can't help you any more. Sam always wanted to be in a group but it never lasted for him. In his own words, he was abducted by aliens and even that collaboration didn't last passing time. For all his billions of dollars, in every single interview he goes off on Dave at some stage, smiling away pretending to be happy, while Dave just enjoys life. Poor Sam must be the most miserable Billionaire I have ever seen.

Music industry isn't what it used to be.. couple people sitting in a room writing lyrics and figuring out a chord to match.... now you've got 30 people farming garbage for anyone willing to buy it... Add on top the industry doesn't have any leaders, everyone who pioneered is in their late 70's early 80's and are tired.... there are no rock gods left.. and no-one to lead.

Alex doesn't play like Bonham, he's more disciplined, more jazz influenced, more Ginger Baker influenced, which kind of explains why Jason Bonham struggles with playing Van Halen songs. Jason Bonham plays in one style, his father's and it doesn't work with Van Halen songs.
