I had a new door seal fitted on my Mk VI golf, I wasn't confident replacing it myself. But when the guy fitted it and he was hammering it in, he cracked the pillar vent. It's driver side, so annoys me. If I wanted to replace just the vent, do I still need to remove the whole A- Pillar? Is it easy job or not? Many thanks

In my view it’s pointless resealing the vents, as due to vibration they just work loose again Remove the plugs from each side underneath, using long nose pliers remove the insulation. This can be a pain, as it’s soaking wet and expanded Leave the plugs out, this will ensure any water that comes in goes straight out, plus increases airflow to keep it dry

Thank you for an excellent video, which was a great help to me. For anyone doing this repair on the Mk3 Estate version, the following might help. My car was leaking into the spare wheel well, but not through the vents. There are only two vents on the estate, which are on each side at the wheel arches, and which were not leaking. The problem was four unused holes in the back panel which Ford had covered with self-adhesive pads and which had eventually saturated and were hanging off. I cut some plastic patches from a food container lid and siliconed them over the holes. Result - no leaks. Thanks again

I've got a Skoda Karoq. The external media can be played via two USB C sockets. My previous car could use SD cards loaded with my CD collection and had no problem, so I thought that by buying a USB C to SD card reader adaptor I could just plug in and away it would go, but It doesn't see it. I have had to buy some USB C flash drives, transfer my music to them and plug in. They do work, however, I have found that it is probably not wise to use anything above 32GB, especially if you intend filling the drive up to capacity. The system in the car struggles to read all the information and if you search for specific tracks it can't find them. The other problem I've found, and I don't know if its related is that if you are playing a particular track/album, and you switch off and park up, on return to the car, the system seems not to remember where it was and starts playing something different. I'm living with it but it is a pain!

Hi, I'm used to using a normal usb stick in my Hyundai i 10, which stopped working after a long while. Bought a new one, put music on it, inserted in to my car usb port, pressed media, usb site came up with track but I can't get any sound. I've been to Hyundai and they tried the stick in another car and it worked. Tearing my hair out. Help.
