Gross missrepresentation of the Dawkin principles, social conducts cannot be equated to actual survival. i.e if that where true there could only be cheaters. Or people who kill... also you are not representing accurately cooperation as a strategy..

State and federal prisons 4xs 15+ years in various forms of incarceration, mental health facilities, methadone clinic, treatment centers etc., ACE score 9 - OSDD Diagnosis upon others. 9 year drug free 10 year alcohol free 6 cigarettes free (actually quit on a New years resolution in prison). Still drink coffee though😊 daily work on self, much self study, not much into meetings. Court/parole stipulated psychiatry, thankfully little medication because - ordered to by parole. If any words of advice try to work through childhood traumas (at least that which you may recall). For me some of my so called demons are buried in dissociative amnesia and are more complex. Sobriety is my new high just for today.😊

Excellent video brother, thank you. Just a tip, the siblance on your "S's" is very harsh and piercing, might look into using a de-esser or something to soften that. Thanks again..

Summary of wise things people have told me over the years: Negative thoughts feed negative thoughts, but positive thoughts feed positive thoughts! So acknowledge the thought, challenge what needs to be challenged, and then tell yourself a more realistic affirmation of what’s going to happen or what the situation means and focus your energy on something that actually serves and fulfils you (Trying to do this myself lol, so much easier said than done but just gotta practice)

Healing trauma comes internally, but society says to solve any problem we need to look externally.

I 100% understand what you are saying and there is valid points.however everyone suffers, some way mother than others, but that doesn't make it okay to be an addict.Trauma doesnt eqaul intantly being an addict.it is a disease but I do believe it is curable, like at least u can strive to be primarily sober

The biggest scam in the world are those rehabs for celebrities, like in Malibu. Has their every been a documented case of success from one of those...like every? The celebs, like every other addict, usually binge right before going in for their vacation overlooking the pacific ocean.

I think lots of people are suffering but get bailed out because their addictions are not punished by the world. I mean, think of people who waste their lives spouting off with political opinions all day? They cannot possibly feel good about themselves, but they have the comfort of the crowd. If there was a punishment for being addicted to wasting your life like this, they would not be able to quit. Some feel uncomfortable with their bodies and become addicted to various exercise or competition. You see extreme examples of this all the time. People are addicted to coffee, etc. I think everyone is uncomfortable and some are just likely to find activities that get rewarded, or at least not punished.

How do you help a grandchild who is already 20 finished HS and does not want to study or find a job; stays all day in his room and is not disabled; he was a normal child up to now. His mother, my daughter has lost all hope but fosters this dependency on her which is not good for him or for her. I see this situation with sadness as I love both of them dearly and I don’t know how or what to do to save them.

As a severely abused child, by my mother, who was an extreme narcissist and violent , alcoholic and addict, I turned to drugs and alcohol to numb the pain. I couldn’t understand why my mother hated me. She beat me daily. Told me I was ugly and nobody would ever love me. I bore both physical and extreme emotional scars. I was active for over 30 years. In and out of jail, promiscuity, robbing and stealing. I was so grateful to firstly, find the Rooms and secondly, and most importantly, finding a psychologist who specialized in EMDR (eye movement desensitization), which focuses on the trauma and then releases the memory, forever. We can recover and we can move on from the trauma of childhood abuse. I pray for anyone who is struggling. Bless you Dr. Mate, for your work and tirelessly dedicating your career to helping those struggling with recovery. Addiction is truly a result of trauma and unending pain. We can overcome!

Why are the male/ female characters portrayed as they are? Why is success a computer and a curvy blonde? Why is the teacher an old woman? Why is a wise mentor a young man in a suit? Why can’t we move towards equality? Why should we care about images?

This is a cool video with some interesting ideas. It would be interesting to overlay inputs to these ideas. We don't exist in vacuum. We live in a world of influence and stimuli that push and pull us, sometimes to good places (e.g. falling in love) sometimes to bad places (e.g. cults)
