2012 Olympics is probably saddest because it's was close fight and both equally at their prime. In 2008 he knew he will not stand s chance against lin dan front of Chinese crowd. In 2016 due to exhaustion vs ld ar semi, he knew he can't really match chen long who are younger than him

If you notice, LD always got an easy path towards the finalz while LCW must overcome other Chinese great players at semi. That's how chinese team play their game. Even the Chinese players rank itself was arranged properly to avoid meeting each other in semi. That's what happen in olympics semi 2012, where his country man surrendered the game and gave an easy win to LD to make him fit for the final. This what i heard from my friend who trained under Misbun academy

hes not unlucky he a legend.. no matter how he failed times after times, everyone in the world knows lee chong wei but not all knows chen long this shows how strong and how incredible he is. legend can only be found years after years not easy at all. i really respect lee chong wei for his efforts and dedication and how he doesnt hate the opponent for losing to them times after times and didnt call the opponent lucky..

If LCW didnt exist in LD´s prime era… He wouldve been the best singles player of all time without a doubt… LD and LCW will forever be the two best singles players and noone can prove otherwise..

If LCW could've won gold olympic and world championship, then it would've been perfect moment from him. Axelsen lives in the right era cuz he has both gold world championship for a couple of times and gold olympic 2020 while LCW only got silver. When i say that word, i feel broken-hearted and disappointed a bit. Moreover, LCW has been just a past history. And now, aaron chia/soh wooi yik are current players who haven't won any super series title, but suddenly became gold medalists of world championship 2022 cuz they used their own advantage during chinese MD domination was being so weak.

Olympics might be the biggest tournament, but Lee Chong Wei is bigger than it. Lee Chong Wei couldn't won the gold but he made Olympics and badminton great.

@Agil Gemilang Momota has been outdated right now. Axelsen is G.O.A.T now. His achivement in major event has been much better than LCW
