David Jackson arrivò con l'album successivo l'eccellente THE LEAST WE CAN DO IS WAVE TO EACH OTHER del 1969 !!!!!!!!

PEOPLE YOU WERE GOING TO...

There's a great plot twist near the end of this piece, but unfortunately, this video is only a fraction of the piece -- for no good reason.

I don't see what's so wonderful about it. I like Orient-Occident, also the composer Harry Parch, much better. Xenakis was all about purgatory in this one.

I’m not familiar, but incredibly curious. How the hell was a Xenakis composition referenced in a sitcom?
@dr_owenmaestro75408 ай бұрын
@@Fangednoumena The actual show "Garth Marenghi's Darkplace" first aired in the aughts on the Adult Swim network in the US. It was about a fictional TV series of the same name, a medical horror-drama set in Darkplace Hospital in Rumford, UK, that was produced in the 1980s but never aired (except in Peru). The unaired episodes are shown, with creator and cast interviews mixed into them and in which the show's auteur Garth Marenghi (Matthew Holness) laments that the "so-called powers that be" (yes) were too stupid and cowardly to see the appeal of a show that included doctors who carried firearms, (unacknowledged) horrendous acting and production, and monstrous graphic nudity (literally).

@@dr_owenmaestro7540 very interesting, thank you for elucidating some of the details.
I wonder how this was done? Like, what was the workflow here?
@CoffeeAndPaul3 ай бұрын
It would have been a long process of creation. The composer &/or his co-producer(s) would have been splicing all these overdubs by hand from magnetic tape reel, most probably from high-speed reels since this is German & Germans value high fidelity, which means a high sampling rate, which means a fast, not slow, -moving recording tape speed.

Gosh, this sounds almost exactly like Ambient Works 2 by Aphex Twin. I wonder if Richard was consciously referencing Luening.
@Skiponline10 жыл бұрын
To those who enjoy this I recommend the tracks Cliffs and Domino from the album Selected Ambient Works Vol.2 by Aphex Twin. Its clear he got some inspiration out of Otto Luening.
