Very informative tutorial, sir 👍 But i have one question, As you using Stomp Modeler, can you setup different setting in it, to save in another bank? Let say Bank 1A you use reverb with a 50% mix, then Bank 1B you setup the reverb mix about 20-30% And if so, should the pedal always on, and we dont worried about it? Coz im thinking to get this one looper pedal, instead i sell all my pedalboard and buy one digital multi effect Thank you

@@leecookmusic1 you said "was amazing", he's still hot his chops and yours frequently playing clubs and small intimate venues around the US and Canada. There are several videos posted fairly recently of him performing this song with some added me oodling and improv that show he's kept his fingers limber and quick as he's ever been. He doesn't hit the high notes when singing like he did but who can after almost 40 years? 😁

@@leecookmusic1 yeah, time just seems to blow by like the wind. Next year will be 40 yrs since I saw Triumph at the US Festival. Regarding the band on my site, if you're a Chicago fan and aren't familiar with them, you need to be. In a nutshell, Russian band covers Chicago better than Chicago at this point. They just finished their 3rd US tour here in AZ last month. Incredibly talented group of musicians. Check out their videos here on KZfaq. Leonid and friends. Peace

Great video. One question though, where do i put the noise gate? Should i place it in it's own bank? I play mostly and the noise gate isn't that effective when i placed it in it's own bank.
@leecookmusic1
@leecookmusic1 4 жыл бұрын
Sorry for the delay. So depending on the style of music that you play may determine where you might want to put it. A quick question, do you use your amps distortion channel for your dirty sounds, or do you use a pedal?
@infernoah4059

Wow thanks for replying! I play mostly metal. All my tones comes from the pedalboard. I have a Boss NS-2 and i placed it in one of the banks. However the NS-2 just doesn't seem to detect the unwanted noise at times. Am i doing it wrong? Appreciate your advice!
@leecookmusic1
@leecookmusic1 4 жыл бұрын
@@infernoah4059 So I'm not sure how you have been plugging it in on the looper so I'm throwing out an one idea here. On the looper, here is a way to hook it up. 1. come out of the send on the first loop and plug it into the input of the NG. 2. Come out of the NG output into the first loop return. 3. Now take your send on the NG and plug it into the input of your dirt pedal. 4. Next take the output of your dirt pedal and plug it into the return of the NG. 5. Make sure the NG is on reduction. This is how you may already have it, but if not its how I would try it first. Let me know if that works or if you are already using it that way so we can hopefully find a solution. Blessings

@infernoah4059
@infernoah4059 4 жыл бұрын
Hey man I've tried what you suggested. Somehow when I start to play after a complete stop, the inital note will somehow be lower in volume and will gradually increase to the correct volume that I've set. I've turned the threshold and decay both ways and even set it very low to almost no gate but still this happens. My setup is Boss NS-2 - Revv G3 - Delay/Reverb. Has anyone experience this before? What am I doing wrong? To add on, the moment i struck a note, the reduction LED immediately switches off, meaning there is no gate.

The plx4 doesn't have a way to send midi commands. Their are other loop switches (by the same manufacturer) that do offer midi commands. You would need a midi switch to change programs on your M5. I hope that was the question you are asking. Check out this unit. (Joyo PXL LIVE Dual 4-Channel Programable Pedal Controller) It offers a Midi out but its much bigger and more money. I went with the plx4 for its size. Hope this helps. Blessings

Thanks for your video; so is there a general principle of why the DRIVE is before the M5 and the DELAY is AFTER? and you place both before the M5 or after the M5? and if so why would the Drive be before the DELAY?
@leecookmusic1
@leecookmusic1 6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the questions. Question So the drive is before the M5 and delay for clarity reasons mainly. There is no right or wrong way to setup pedals depending on the sound you are going for. The way I think of it is this, do I want to have a delay sound with drive on it or do I want a drive sound with delay on it. Typically you will get a tighter sound with the drive before the delay/reverb. Most guitarist I watched over the years have this setup. The drives for me are always first and the effects after. The reason I have my M5 before the delay is because if I need a modulation effect then its still in front of my delay instead of after. Now if I had a separate reverb I would have the setup like this: (Tuner-Drives-Volume/Wah-Modulation-Delay-Reverb) which is a standard setup. In the end, you can setup your pedals any way you want. I would try different combinations and see what you like. I hope that helped, If you have any other questions please feel free to let me know. Blessings

Do you still use the Nux Time Force on your pedalboard today/has it stopped working since you’ve bought it? I’ve been thinking about buying it online, but I’m not sure if it’s a reliable pedal because of the range of things that I’ve heard about it.

hi. lee.. im using a zoom g3 for my mod delay and reverb.. can i set them individually using that looper...
@leecookmusic1
@leecookmusic1 7 жыл бұрын
Hi, So I looked up the Zoom G3 (nice looking unit) and it looks like there is only a input (guitar) and a left/right output. You can run the G3 into one of the loops on the pxl4 and put it in the signal path with other pedals in the other loops, but you would need to have a loop in and out for each effect on the G3 to be able to have control over each effect on individual loops of the pxl4 . Hope that makes sense. Thanks for watching the video.

Hey man, So I have a few pedals going to the effects loop and some in the amp, I wanna use all of them at different times, how would i be able to connect it? My guitar to effects to amp. Effects loop send - pedals - effects return etc. Great video just my delay sounds terrible in front of the amp.
@leecookmusic1
@leecookmusic1 7 жыл бұрын
Hey sorry for the delay in getting you a reply. So my thought on the effects send-pedals-effects return from the looper would not work for the plx4. The pxl4 loops are not in the signal path when not selected which means it would cut off the sound between the preamp section and the power amp section (I'm not sure if the signal would still come through engaging the effects loop of the amp). Also the problem is you have two sends-one from the looper channel and one from the effects loop on the amp. I put it to paper and tried to make it work but didn't find a solution. Continue to research what you can. I may not have thought of some way to make it work. Sorry I wasn't more help. Thanks for watching the video.

I have one and managed to do it. First, put your pre-preamp pedals in the first loop. Then, for instance in loop 2, connect the send to the input of the amp, and the return to the "send" of the amps fx loop. Use the other loops for delays, etc., and finally connect the output of the pxl to the return of the fx loop of the amp. This way, loop 2 will be the distortion. I use it that way. Hope it helps

Unfortunately it is only a loop pedal. It does not have a channel switching feature. You would have to go the the PXL Pro which has triggers in it to change channels on you amp. I totally understand wanting to use your amps distortion especially if you really like it. Hope that answered your question. www.amazon.com/PXL-PRO-Programable-Control-Station-Switcher/dp/B00FC4BOKE Blessings.

how are you powering this? power adapter with daisy chain or a proper power supply? i want to get an m5 for my delay and reverb but im worried that there will be noise problems cuz i dont have a proper power supply
@leecookmusic1
@leecookmusic1 7 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the question. I use the one spot to power everything. What I did was go online and find the specs for all my pedals and what their power requirements are. I added up all the milliamps (mA) and I was still a few hundred mA's under the one spot power output. It works great for what I have on the pedal board. I will at some point work toward getting a better (proper) power supply but do to a tight budget I had to go with the one spot. Hope that helps. Please let me know if you have anymore questions.

@leecookmusic1

Thanks! so yeah the M5 is great. I haven't noticed any tone loss at all. It's a great workhorse for a pedalboard. It can cover a lot of ground. I have actually been working with the distortions and overdrives lately. I love analog but I just had to give it a shot. I can tell you the Classic Distortion model is very useful. It's a copy of the Pro Co Rat pedal and the filter nob is your best friend. I was able to copy my SD1 and Rook very closely. I had a friend of mine come over and had him turn away as I switched between the original and the M5 and he couldn't tell the difference. I would recommend it any time. Great Pedal! thanks again for the comment. Blessings
