As an owner of a few Tecovas myself, I appreciate seeing in-depth resoles by cobblers. What’s your opinion on the poron insoles companies like them use? Would it be best to ask a cobbler to replace the insole with a veg tan leather one when it’s time for a resole?
@Theshoeman02
@Theshoeman02 Ай бұрын
@@stanman247 thank you for watching 🙏. Poron insoles are mainly for comfort right from the start because it’s soft and squishy. Leather insoles take some breaking in before they get comfortable. In my opinion I’d rather the break-in because once you break a pair in, they are way more comfortable compared the poron insoles.

Beautiful work as usual, and as usual I learned something new. I watch a lot of cobbler videos, especially about cowboy boot repair. This is the first time I have seen the details you included about rounding the waist and deepening the stitch trench in the toe. I appreciate these details very much. Two questions about Tecovas: 1) is the welt attached to a gemming or a hold fast, and 2) is the heel rand leather or plastic? Thanks.
@Theshoeman02
@Theshoeman02 Ай бұрын
@@jvc3312 thanks for watching! So the older pairs I’ve come across are holdfast, but the new ones use gemming. The heel rands are plastic, I’ve heard that they hold up better as spur ledges compared to the leather.
