When The Warning played the VMA small stage the producers of the show litterally said "HOLY SHIT!" I think that is beacuse MTV forgot what rock is in favor of boring pop and sleepy hiphop which is boring, repatitve, lacks dynamics and passion. This Vocal here on Automatic Sun from Dani is Raw, Real, and incredibly dynamic. When compared to an autotuned pop robot, this is like eating a real cake when you are used to eating plastic ones. It's sweet and savory. Real music, real emotion, real dynamics, real energy, real drama.

It think perhaps, it is a "live" miced recording with more of a "studio" vocal. Either that or Dani had her best live vocal take ever.

Live = clean, sharp, and durty guitar and vocals Studio = distorted fuzzy guitar and disjointed vocals - still good but not perfection. MTV push artists for a month showing videos and interviews of bands - basically promoting the band. Many top recording artists discovered this was eg Dua Lipa.

Much to Ms. Stirling's credit, she thanks AGT for being as tough on her as they were on her original appearance(They have asked her back often). It made her determined to become the phenom she is and prove them wrong. When you consider the number of AGT 'winners' whom you can't remember their names or act, her humble admission speaks volumes of her character IMHO.

Savage is an apt song title. Never heard of them before either. Although I prefer cleans mixed in with harsh, I could listen to this occasionally. I was thinking deathcore at first, but is lists Avant-garde metal, Djent, prog metalcore, and electronicore.

Nice. Listening to the opening piano notes I am convinced that anything would sound beautiful accompanied by this. And that is in no way to discount the lovely vocals of Amy Lee or this young lady. When I get time I will test out this theory.

They're currently on a "World Tour" (mostly dates in Europe, including some festivals, and I believe one live in the US). But they seem to be picking up pace overseas, and unlike a lot of japanese bands actually seem to be making an effort to get more popularity outside of Japan, so they might play more dates in Europe/US soon. :) Also: the "female backing vocals" are also the main vocalist. Not only has he impressive growls, but also the voice of an angel if he sings melodic parts. ;) They just layer his harsh vocals over his clean vocals in the chorus. There are some other songs where you can hear his clean vocals more clearly.

A note about the closed captioning: There's a channel here on youtube called "for the fox god" that has some *amazing* babymetal live videos, and they've taken the time to add human-translated (not machine translated) subtitles to all the songs. Great for getting more of an understanding of their lyrics - and great live videos in general.

It's definitely a live performance. Dany's vocals are different, and Ale's bass line differs from the OMV. But you are right, they are so damn good that it's hard to tell. I think they always sound better live than the studio version.

Thanks for this I watched the interview they show shots of them playing S!ck and this during it. the whole thing is 20mins or so and it's great. To me both the songs seemed like live sessions especially after seeing them both recently on Kimmel which are fantastic. 🔥⚡

I was VERY fortunate to live a stone's throw from the pulsing heart of the 80's metal scene. I was also fortunate to have parents that trusted their 16 year old son enough to allow me to drive myself and Friends the 45 minutes to an hour it took to get there 3-4 times a month. There was a local ski shop that had a Ticketmaster outlet inside of it and they even allowed me to go over there and camp overnight for tickets to the big bands that I loved like Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Dio, The Scorpions, etc. The exchange was that whenever they had tickets for an opera, ballet, or stage play, I had to make time for that. I couldn't tell you what month or what year it was, but I remember there being a month in which I saw Armored Saint, La Boheme, WASP, and the Nut Cracker... In that order. I was a weird kid. LOL
