Cost of capital doesn't come up when doing a money market hedge. You only need borrow/deposit interest rates and spot rate. Cost of capital is used when we need the required return of the capital providers of the company.

For WACC, sometimes they give you (a) "market return" and (b) "Risk Free." You subtract B from A to get (c) 'risk premium'. However, sometimes they just give you C, so you don't need to do the previous step.

Hi there, you are correct. If there is no cash, then the inventory is funded from the short-term finance. Could be payables or overdraft. For the exam if they state that finance costs are part of holding costs, then include it 100%. If they don't mention that, the model answer usually excludes that--either way it is only going be 1/2 of a mark or so, so do what seems correct based on the past papers you've tried and keep moving! Good luck tomorrow.

Yes, I think this is the best way to do it--get warmed up in A, focus on finding 10 that you can do, see the whole syllabus. Now you are warmed up, do C, working in blank spreadsheets, word processors. Now time is winding down, go to B, aim for 3 out of 5 for each mini scenario, always do the theory ones first--run out of time on the tricky ones. You don't want to be running short of time in section C, better B if you are pressed for time.

Hi there, tax charge is 9.5--tax paid is 9.0. Any non-cash expense gets reducted from operating profit. With capital employed, the examiner wants you to use OPENING capital employed, so the charges in the current year don't affect the opening capital employed.
