Joost lyrics vs music makes me remember of Yoasobi. Yoru ni Kakeru (Racing into the Night) has the most catchy music I've heard in years, while the lyrics... Yeah, google a translation.

The Bambikiller just means that Bambi the deer is really weak in terms of strenght so it is easy to kill so Bambikiller is ironic in a sense of you normally having a name wich has something scary and not Bambi

You actually missed a reference. Joost talked about blood, sweat and tears. This is a famous Dutch song from Dutch icon Andre Hazes. It is a pub song about his troubles which results in blood, sweat and tears. But instead of sad and depressing is it a happy song sung by the whole pub when it is played. Joost also makes music like this, pain covered in something else

The biggest losing streak goes to Antarctica, because not only did they never manage to even be considered for any music contest whatsoever, but they're also not even a country.

There is a layer in the song about Latin as well: In the Roman Empire all kinds of artists are seen as one of the lowest things to be and be treated as such with bad pay, if at all. So the Latin reference can also be one to the way the Roman Empire viewed art.

I'm so glad Joost went through the therapy He should be happy! He deserves to be happy and healed! I fell in love with the song at first now I'm in love with his personality and songs! I can truly say that he's the Artist! Even if eurovision 2024 became a nightmare and disaster, so many people discovered Joost after that! And I know that one day I'll be able say thank you to him for making me stronger, for making me a fighter He showed us how to be a fighter and don't give up!

As a diehard Eurovision fan I was both delighted by your depth of knowledge about ESC, and laughed so hard on many of your jokes from this video!! 😂😂 Especially the Alex Florea ones 😆 You seriously lifted up my mood which was pretty low prior to clicking on this video! Thank you a lot for that!! You have a great sense of humour! 👏🏻 Subscribed! Would like to add a couple of details: 16:09 The backstory of the song is essentially one phrase Marko once told Kohver in a car "you know, I actually know nothing about drugs". 5miinust thought it sounded like a poor excuse in front of the police, and immediately decided it would be a cool idea to make a song about it. 21:05 The dance didn't survive among the modern population of the Vormsi island. It draws back from the times when the island was populated by Swedes, just as the instrument. It went extinct when the Swedes were banished from there. So Marko has completely reconstructed the dance from 0, using his anthropological degree, based on surviving historical and archeological data, similar to how he did with the talharpa (except that the talharpa wasn't fully extinct). Since it's impossible to actually verify how accurate it looks compared to the real dance from centuries ago, he named the dance after himself. So the dance is also a representation of Puuluup's "zombie-folk" identity. _(If you ask me, this reminds me a lot of the Swiss folk-metal band Eluveitie who reconstructs an extinct Gaulish language. I personally think such artists and the work they do are one of the most valuable cultural figures in humanity's music industry.)_ 12:24 5miinust first found out who Puuluup were back in 2019, when Puuluup's single "Kasekesed" with about 40 thousands views on KZfaq was nominated for the "Best Song" at Estonian Music Awards, while 5miinust biggest summer hit that year "aluspükse" with a couple of million views, wasn't. So 5 miinust were very angry about it. Over time they grew to become fans of Puuluup.

This contest is ridiculous because the contestants participating are representing their country with songs that are independent of their own style, and none of them are sincere. This contest is outdated as it was created at a time when there was no internet and social media. With today's means, we can arrange a global music competition to help young talents get more recognition.

After hearing the song luchtballon by joost klein for I think was the 3rd time, I realised I recognised the outro but I couldn't put my finger on it. I thought it was from this video and I'm glad I could find it. The timeline of seeing this video, all excited for eurovision. Than seeing joost's comment on it that warmed my hart. Then while waiting for the final hearing that he got disqualified and being absolutely devastated about it. To now hearing his new song clearly pointed somewhat towards eurovision or at least airing out his emotions about it, and then realising that the outro was from a very inspiring video I saw about a month ago . Absolutely crazy. You understand him exactly the way he meant it and he honored that by quoting you. It's making me want to cry 😢😅 absolutely beautifully full circle

100% true and Loreen's win last year confirms it. The jury handed the win to a 'well crafted' song that nonetheless sounded like a Katy Perry b side from a decade ago. That's NOT good and shows that the jury might understand why different parts of a song are good or bad but they have NO CLUE about songs where the sum is greater than the parts OR is not a traditional pop song or ballad. Plus, it's not like Kaarija's song wasn't personal, meaningful, and representative of Finland.
