Someone? Anyone? Please explain to me the camera set-up? The videos from outside the aircraft, taken off the right wingtip, pointing across the nose, broadside, toward the left side of the aircraft. How is that done? Where is the camera mounted? Please educate me on this? Thanks.

Ok I'll admit I thought the 360 cam was kind of gimmicky, but I started rotating it around this time and it's pretty cool! Fun video Steve.

Paraphrasing Bob Hoover: “The new pilot has two jars. One is full of marbles, labeled Luck. The other is empty, labeled Experience. Every time you have a close call, you take a marble from the Luck Jar and put it in the Experience Jar. Your job is to make sure the Experience Jar is full before the Luck Jar is empty”. Thank you for sharing your story without ego.

About the only wish I have, is that it it would be more realistic if the point of view in the camera was either to your side or maybe the back seat, and therefore get a more realistic experience (😉). I do appreciate you taking us on these journeys. Definitely helps understand what is involved. 👍🏽👌🏽

Are people paragliding in this region? The clouds look great that day and the valley breeze you faced tells me there were probably good thermals... and the landscape looks quite inviting for paragliding and even has a lot of outlanding possibilities 👍

How are you getting those shots from off the right wing. A drone isn't fast enough. I don't think even close. A friend in another plane? But it seems way too close. All I can figure is AI.

MORE BALLS THAN ME.... in those canyons, with wind it is hard to say where your going to get altitude to turn. Dry air, altitude. too many boxes checked for problems. Winds in those canyon can very for turning too. you just dont have enough margins for error. Then landing on a 1 way with a tail wind....Like you said. going into the wind and slipping it in might have been a better choice. but that hill right there just made it super dangerous (wind angles too unpredictable ).....I would not have done any of that. In those canyons just always worried about boxing myself in. All to dangerous for me.

@@CLEAREDDIRECT I am not a pilot, but, with a pilot, I have flown several times over the Swiss Alps, up to 14,000 feet in Cessnas... The pilot did the take off and landing, and I took the control in between. Once flying South over Aletsch Glacier, after passing the Jungfrau, at ~ 13,700 feet, we were in a - 700 ft/min downdraft. Interesting. Otherwise I do fly in Flight Simulator, where I like bush, aerobatics, and fast military jets flying...

Nmm. Let's say I was on active duty in the Air Force and started my latest Med Cert application in July 2023 with--obviously--no disability to disclose. That application was referred to the FAA for a condition--obviously--unrelated to any VA disability. I subsequently retired in April 2024 while the FAA Med Cert application was still "under review" for the aforementioned condition and later received a 70+% VA rating in June 2024, potentially placing me squarely in "Bucket 3." Should the FAA grant my Med Cert, can we assume that rational minds will prevail here and the FAA will not later see me as having falsified my Med Cert application? To proactively "remediate" this, if necessary, should I submit another MedExpress application or wait until it is time to renew my yet-to-be-approved Med Cert?
@CLEAREDDIRECT3 күн бұрын
Thanks for your service. No, you have no responsibility to re-submit. You answered honestly on the date you submitted your MedXpress. Medicals are time-limited to catch changes in conditions and status. Answer honestly on your next application. That’s my $0.02 anyway. If you’ll sleep better, re-apply. Good luck. I think you’ll be fine.

So here’s my unqualified opinion, get your airplane straightened out, AOA, idle speed should be able to achieve 600 RPM’s on the ground. What a fantastic airplane and the panel is awesome. Remember, you don’t HAVE to land. Your seat of the pants awareness shouldn’t be disregarded. Great video and audio, thank you for sharing. 🤙🏼

Did you ever do an engine comparison video? I'm curious why you didn't go with the Rotax 915 IS (or 916) since it seems like you are planning to do a fair amount of mountain flying. My thinking (so far) is that if I'm doing a lot of mountain flying, I want the same horsepower regardless of density altitude.... but I'm open to someone changing my mind.
@CLEAREDDIRECT4 күн бұрын
Thanks for asking. No, I haven’t filmed that video yet. Short answer is price. I would love to have a turbo and constant speed prop, but I was out of money. When I bought, the 915 was $10K more than Titan. I’m scared to know what 916 costs
