5 seconds for the time period these were manufactured is wicked quick. It's insane to think that the 2.0T Accords aren't much slower than that V8 Miata. Cars are just fast now. A midsize econo-box is doing what some supercars were doing 40 years ago. We've gotten so spoiled

My NC hard top, has a glove box and four cup holders……one on each door and two in the centre console, just behind the window switches. The noise is moot point being a convertible, and the trunk space is another moot point being a small car, sorry but the complaints on this car is not worth complaining about .

A **GREAT** engine for the early Miata: 4.6L Rover (buick) V8. It makes good power and is incredibly lightweight and compact. They also like an M90 blower. While not nearly as capable as the LS, it is smaller and lighter. Highly recommended.

As impressed as I am with this guy's ability to swipe the original engine to a bigger one and make it work, I'm puzzeled by the fact that anyone would even think of ruining the for the Miyata so unique driving characteristics by adding all that extra wheight to the front. The latest gen Corvette didn't get a complete redesign, incl. moving the engine backwards to the middle for nothing baby!

Make it clear if you don't want to learn this type of work is not for you. Me and friend went to the state's top automotive college. What sets us apart is he didn't pay attention and got lower grades. I did and he still asks me to come over and fix his car's for money of course.

Leaving the phone loose on the seat pretty much invalidates anything you get from the accelerometers. You need to fasten or mount it somehow.

Toyota's 3.5 litter v6. You can get 300 NA hp stock if you are lucky and they are super-efficient with aftermarket cams and other stuff. And they are in a bunch of Camrys and Highlanders. I would do it on a NB miata

If the fan turns on does that mean the thermostat is working? And if the coolant is returning to the reservoir, does that mean the water pump is working?

I didn't realize without-BOV has become a thing, one doesn't care the unnecessary wear on the bearings and the longevity of a turbo, would've at least concerned the massive amount of pressurized air piped into the opposite direction of a highspeed spinning turbine to literally force it to a halt. Who wants to wait for the turbos to spin up from a halt all over again between every shift?

I totally agree on the noise aspect. After driving it on the highway with the top up for more than 2 hours, by head and ears are completely done in, especially on a windy day. I would gladly take a 10-15kg penalty for more sound deadening, especially by the rear wheel arches, as road noise at 130km/h (80mph) is truly awful, even with better tires. I ended up throwing 3 blankets behind the seats, where the top goes, to dampen some of the noise (works surprisingly well)

I'm replying to this video 11 months after it was posted. I've had an idea since the early to mid 90's of a first gen Miata with a 1987 Grand National turbo v6 and a 6 speed trans. I think it would have been an awesome creation! :)

Strange that I have a 2017 Golf and never got a message there was a recall for the coil spring. Now here it is 2024 and at 80,000+ miles I now have a rear coil spring failure. Too late to take it to the dealer as the replacement arrived today. When I bought it new now at 80K+ mile I think it's warranty is expired now anyways. Time to get hands dirty.
