Maybe those braces are doing a bit of work, would it not be safer toremove one at a time just make sure yu don't have the roof collapse?

Why not just go right back to the center beam rather than make those strongbacks and cut/secure them properly so they do bear the load?

Really? Is water so expensive there you can’t just use the hose? Your idea is good, the execution is good but for what?

The vinyl needs to exp[and and contract with temperature changes. Screws will prevent that movement. Won't the vinyl eventually crack?

no offense but as a fence contractor, you not putting the concrete mix all the way to the top and just filling it with soil really hurt to see.

I have a couple of these traps. Bees just ignore it and go back to the house holes.
@SimonSaysDIY
@SimonSaysDIY 13 күн бұрын
I have several placed around my house but they mostly just use 2. I would try filling any existing holes with silicone caulking. This will cause them to look for a new home and find your tap. You can also catch a live or dead bee and place it in the bottle. I believe the smell attracts more bees.

When joining slabs you should use foam for expansion joints and drill dowel holes into the slab and add rebar to get a strong join, and for a patio like that I would recommend a broom finish that’s gonna be a very slippery slab, also buy a trowel\ stick trowel to get a proper finish. Didn’t look the best tbh but well done 👍

Do you remove the watering system during the winter and how long does it last either way?
@SimonSaysDIY
@SimonSaysDIY 13 күн бұрын
I haven’t removed it. It’s worked now for several years. If you place it under the soil it will last longer as the sun will dry it out and brake down the material.

I see that this video was made 4 years ago. Now I am wondering how that plywood has done throughout the years. Are you exposed to extreme weather conditions such as cold and snow in your state? Thank you
@SimonSaysDIY
@SimonSaysDIY 13 күн бұрын
It’s still holding up really well! We live in a warm climate that only gets snow once or twice a year but we do have extreme heat and termites but this has held up really well so far.

One cheeky question....do you think it will hold if I do this...for a car drivey? 😁 Perhaps going for a extra strength mix will do...I just love the looks and don't wanna buy massive stones!
@SimonSaysDIY
@SimonSaysDIY 15 күн бұрын
It should, I would recommend doing it at least 4in thick and then place some wire mesh or rebar to reinforce each stone.

kinda looks like what I am dealing with. Its not big enough to consider any sort of room, but the storage space cannot be denied. I am looking into how I can snag a bit more room and square things up by installing vertical rafter supports instead of the slanted ones. Might double up on them for shits and giggles Then it is just a process of finding a spot for an access ladder and beefing up the ceiling joists to bear more weight. Maybe it could be a futon room someday, but just want the storage for now.
