I’ve been contemplating a way to respond that isn’t reactionary, incendiary, or dismissive, so this is my attempt: I agree that at a basic level, a dog’s biological instincts are innate to their sex, although I also know that Freedom, the dog is question, was neutered, so how that plays into her instincts I’ll admit is beyond my understanding. Since there is already a large amount of talk these days about gender and sex in human beings, I’ll keep my comments simple: let kids be kids, and let’s not neuter ourselves into irreversible corners we might later regret.
