Great job mate, thank you for an excellent review. I was on the fence but after your review I think I will get them. It is a huge investment but hopefully they last a while. Thank you again.

Why don't bikes have stands on both sides? As a failsafe
@AusMoto2 күн бұрын
Interesting, not sure why but a lot of bikes do have centre stands which solves that issue 🤣

Today i went to my local motorcycle gear shop to try on some boots and the tech 3, 5, and 7 toe boxes could fold up while the toe boxes on the fox boots and my old A.R.c boots don’t. It seems to be a common problem with the tech 7.

OK, but if I want to ride a small Travel Bike which I also can use in the City, and the "toughest" offroad I´d ride are roads in the woods, this bike will be still be sufficient, right? I get the whole thing about the suspension, but I just ordered a KTM Adventure 390 SW, and am a bit worried now if I can still ride light offroad trails? 🤔

You can definitely do light off road, even hard off road if you have the skills

I’ve come across them a few times up in SE queensland before. As long as you’ve got license and rego they won’t give you any issues. At the end of the day they’re riders themselves and understand we’re all out here to have a good time.

I've done more than that BUT I was on my Goldwing with the Cruise set at 85 mph (136 kmh) stopping only for gas and a quick bite one time. Was not all that much fun but I had some place to be. And I got there just fine.

Great video. Got 2 v stroms. A 07 650 I've had for 15 years and 165.000km. And a 2014 dl 1000 now. A second hand bike that I've added 35,000 km to. Pretty easy task where I live. Halfway between the Gawler Ranges national Park, and the Eyre highway on a dirt road. Everywhere is a 500km trip from here. Had issues with both bikes and the chain guards. Vibration of the dirt causes metal fatigue. However, zero issues besides that. 650 is amazing on fuel. 24km/litre at casual cruising gives me 400 plus range. Plenty of power too. But the 1000 is a real weapon. I don't ride that for fuel economy haha. I ride it to enjoy myself. It eats the highway and the traffic with ease. Roadtrains and caravans are no obstacle. I also use the "throttle buddy". A great gadget for cruising. I get to the big smoke regularly (Adelaide) after a 600km ride, the hills and southern regions are my favourite place to indulge in some twisties. I kept the 650 when I upgraded because no one thought it was worth anything, and I couldn’t see the point of giving it away when it's still running like new. I use it for my daily, and the 1000 for the big jobs, and when I want to go two-up. Tyre choice is Metzler tourance. 650 now has shinko 50/50 on it because of the dirt road use. Anyhow, it was great to find your video, and see a different part of the country. Happy trails

At the minute the only motorcycle companies that actually innovate are Honda and Kawasaki. BMW waits and copies, Yamaha just changes looks every year, Suzuki change things once every 20 years (although tbh that shows they often hit the nail on the head first time with usually a simple approach). But yeah, only two manufacturers are really trying. CFMoto and Voge are putting out normal kit but with decent componentry where the others scrimp on their lower specced bikes - so not innovation but certainly understanding their markets. Trouble is the motorcycle world is still very male dominated, very macho "I don't need rider aids/cruise control/ABS etc" and these folks, who seem to just be chest beating on principal but are actually just scared of change or don't like choice are providing the perfect reason for manufacturers not to bother innovating and to just change colours or body panels and charge another grand for the privilage. They even accept KTMs with failling cams/valves just because it looks macho and rowdy. Demand more for your money people, come on.
