Very nice book haul in there. I was suprised to know that Mezzo and Pirus was published over there and by no other than Kitchen Sink. Never understood why Fantagraphics (or others…) never reprinted this one but then again they failed to print the whole “King if the Flies” series, so… If you can try to get the excellent “Love In Vain: Robert Johnson 1911-1938” also by them.

Amar Chitra Katha was a staple of every Indian comics fan, very interesting to see them push towards a Western market. They were more mythological than religious, so I think some non-Hindu readers will get some mileage out of them.

Two and a half pages of Will Eisner graphic novels still in print is very impressive. I've never had any real interest in his work after The Spirit, but I may give A Contract With God a try on your recommendation. Remember when these videos were an hour long? I have Andromeda by Zé Burnay. I got it signed at the Amadora Comics Festival when it came out in... 2018... I think. It's been a while. But I never got around to reading it. His type of art is rare, nobody else around here does this type of realistic detail. Not even Osvaldo Medina, who is pretty detailed, but has a way better sense of narrative (look for Kong the King, two wordless graphic novels Osvaldo did).

We are definitely on the same page in our opinions of VISCERE. It's meant as a compliment, but Chloe's standout story reminded me a bit of Kazuo Umezz. Tia Roxae has a great way of grabbing your attention with that lush art style, and then you realize it's the most disturbing image you've ever seen! Hope to see many more anthologies like VISCERE and POISON PILL, in the tradition of TWISTED SISTER, in the future.

Fun video. I used to work for Bedrock City comics in Houston from about 1992-1997, so it brought back some memories. I can't believe Fat Jacks ordered no Fantagraphics! Eightball was a perennial seller back then. For a long time, I had a copy of Capital City's first distribution catalog, but eventually let it go like I did a lot of other things (including the Epic Akiras and the Rolf Stark Rain that you mentioned here; I had forgotten all about Rain until I saw this video; I need to hunt down a copy to reread it). Another thing of note - that Dark Horse 5 year anniversary special has the first chapter of Sin City, which is only mentioned as a new Frank Miller solo story in the solicitation. It turned out to be pretty huge!
