Very job. But the other machine are in need of a good clean?????????????. I love the colour scheme it remines me of a place I once worked for there must have been 20 different clours on the walls and floor. As they used up one tin out came another as long it covered what was there well that was good enough.

Their seems little to no maintenance was performed on the lathe and sell lied through his teeth. I would say many hour will be spent cleaning and making new gaskets.

Great effort, you must have a lot of time in your shop. its been a 2 weeks since of turn something. The gloves had me worried as i heard of someone get there hand sucked into the lathe and made a mess. Your free to do what you want but i would strongly not use gloves if your going to put your hand near a spinning shaft on the lathe. The message came from Screwball in USA and it happen to that utube creators friend. keep safe and well and it would be great to hear whats on your mind when your doing what you do best.

Thank you for your thoughtful message! Safety is indeed paramount when operating turning machines, but because of the cold environment, I am used to wearing gloves.” 😊🛠

Puting silicone between headstock and bead was big mistake. Those surfaces are scraped to make headstock and ways perfectly parallel. Now you should check the alignment

I might have made a mistake, but I’m aware of it. This silicone is so soft, and I lubricated both sides to make a soft rubber washer. Thanks for watching and commenting, I am learning more and more...

At 6:40 you picked up a dead centre and didn’t know what it was. That thick piece goes in the headstock after you remove the chuck and is for centre turning. Nice score.

nice video, but at the last part where u talk about the collet chucks, its probabli couse u are mounting them wrong, the "ebay" one, has that oval ring couse u have to snap the little collet inside nut, then u have to screw it on the chuck, othewise it happens the same as the "old" one, that u need a screwdriver to get the chuck apart, check some videos about how to use a collet chuck, u might learn one or two usefull things, for example, your old collet cuck has less grooves (only on the upper part) couse its made for tools that have holes inside them for coolant to pass thtough (maybe im wrong, but its seems really like one of those), hope i helped a bit, good luck
