So beautiful. I sang for you years ago many times back in the day with my director Mark Bidelman as a group called West Coast Voices. Wish I could get back into the vocal jazz world. Always been my passion.

Wow, the soprano and alto vocals recorded with AI? Cool
@triplejazzmusicisall188310 күн бұрын
The AI makes this sound souless. It is too perfect to have any soul. Sorry but this proves to me that human traits are vital to music.

I don't disagree. It's temporary, and just meant to be an arrangement demo, of course. Julia will ultimately have time to record, but in the meantime, this will serve better (I think) as a representation of what the arrangement does than my old routine of just pitching my vocals up. When Julia sings, I won't be using any Melodyne, and it will be more optimal and soulful. But yes, go humans!

KERRY!! This is amazing and I'm glad you're hip to the Ai voice models, I've been playing with them and while unregulated ai is bad for artists, being able to create sung part tracks of your charts is so handy!!

Hey Jake...yep, it's super dicey and we're entering a new era to be sure. Struggled with whether or not to use the models for this purpose, but ulimately made the call that being able to offer directors more options for programming is better than letting the charts just sit on my hard drive unsung by the actual humans in the world who will bring these to life for real. As another commenter noted, it's pretty rough getting AI models to have soul (and they rely on the soulfulness of the input vocalist, which in this case was me, and I'm certainly lacking in that area).

It was a surprise when Sadaka released a ballad version of his doo-wop hit, and revealed how beautiful it really was. Thanks for bringing this.

I had the blessing of performing this song with my vocal jazz choir during my undergraduate years and it’s been one of my choral pieces for years. Wish more choirs had the opportunity to perform this song to experience my joy

Wow, how fabulous was that. And the quality of the recording is so good. Sounds like the Singers Unlimited quality of sound. Partly produced I believe by double recording. But the clarity and echo in the sound is outstanding. Kery Marsh, you are exceptional.

Probably the best vocal rendition of My foolish Heart that I have ever heard, perfect blend, nice jazz spreads salt and peppered throughout the arrangement. I might have ended with a Major 6/9/#11 chord instead of the octave unison but that is just a personal preference. Extremely well done.

This is an incredible arrangement- so nice to see a choral pop arrangement that doesn’t half-heartedly attempt to transcribe the original. Such fun harmonies and rhythms. Wow.
