It's not that bad to move with the aluminum frame just awkward. Two of them are small enough and close enough to the road that I don't want to take a chance.

How many gallons did you end up with? We made 240 on about 600 taps. About .4 gal/tap. We have about 250 taps on the old huge trees which makes a hug difference in production with the higher sugar content. Glad you had a decent year.

100% understand the time to be done. While my season has a hard stop, no one wants a tree on the 26th, by that time I am pooched and ready for a break. We hustle for 8 to 12 weeks on these seasonal ag products, and then breathe for a day or two until it's time to go again. Keep up the good work.

Really good review! I just traded my 3E for a new 3R for pretty much exactly the same reasons. I gained around 500lbs lift with the loader plus over a foot higher. I went with the 3039R over the 3033R just because I use run a stump grinder and brush chipper a lot and the added PTO hp makes a huge difference. Cast iron rear end vs aluminum was a plus for me as well. Never had a problem with the axles on the E but it definitely gives me peace of mind. Love the mid-range feature, leave it there for 90% of my work. Switch to low if I'm using the loader, box blade whatever... then back to mid. Also use low for better control grinding stumps. Love the individual wheel braking to make tighter turns and like you said, the positions of the diff lock and 4x4 lever are much better. The E did everything I needed it to do, the new R just does it a lot better. With the added PTO hp, I grind the stumps in half the time and no more bogging down the chipper with big or hard wood. If I was just occasionally moving mulch or gravel and sometimes bush hogging 50-75 hrs/year I would stay with the 3E all day long. If you work the tractor hard moving heavy loads or whatever on a regular basis it won't take long to really appreciate all the added features of the 3R. Thanks for putting the video together!
@dunnfamilymaple76422 ай бұрын
At least I'm not the only one that thought the same thing. I should have looked at the 39 to see the difference on price. I only really notice the low HP with the snowblower with heavy wet snow.

How does the Mini MicroRO's performance specs hold up with colder sap? I currently use the CDL Nano and with 40 degree sap the performance is less than half of the published. (CDL told me their published specs were tested with 60 degree sap, really??) I am considering moving to the MiniMicro but I am concerned that I would see the same or similar reduction. Thanks!
@dunnfamilymaple76423 ай бұрын
So the way membranes are rated is with 50 deg water. With colder sap it will be lower. I don't have personal experience with a mini micro but the other ratings that H2O uses are pretty close to advertised. So actual real life numbers but as you go colder it will drop. Also they are rated at 2% sap. If you have lower raw sap % then it will not go as high but the GPH should be the same.

Enjoy your videos, what is a “bubbler”? Thank you from MN!
@dunnfamilymaple76424 ай бұрын
It is an air injection system that creates a boil before your boil thus increasing evaporation rate. It also keeps the particles and other solids suspended in solution keeping them moving so they do not deposit on the bottom of the pan. You make lighter syrup because of the bubbler and it is easier to clean mid season.
