Question: where are the string parts? Even in a reduction, there should be a line for the strings. Two of the licensed orchestrations lack them, but the largest (and the recording you timed this to) assuredly has them.

I consider myself a decent musician with a good internal metronome, but god damn that gap between 'dear diary' and the first 'why' is the most difficult timing! Very interesting music, this analysis makes me realise why it was so gripping from the beginning

i know this channel is kinda ded but I want to say that at 0:51 you call it "sort of like an inverted pedal", ive heard it been called a soprano pedal point, which i think is a good name
