Well that was a waste of time. Sounded like your buddy should have checked pins and bushings. Pretty easy to diagnose that before you buy. And buying a piece of equipment with bent ROPS should be common sense it's been laid over. Haha wow guy...just wow

Dear Sir, I hope this message finds you well. I’ve been following your journey in the dump truck business on KZfaq and have been truly inspired by your success and insights. I obtained my CDL-A license in 2018, but I haven’t utilized it as I was a teacher until recently. I made a quiet exit from teaching due to the constant scrutiny from superiors and the increasing difficulty of the job, despite my love for the students. I am now seeking a career change into the dump truck industry and would greatly appreciate your advice on getting started. Specifically, I am interested in whether I should initially work for a union or non-union company. I’ve seen many trucks on the road and assume there are pros and cons to both. Additionally, I’m curious if it would be wise to gain a year or two of experience before purchasing my own truck and starting my own business. I value being home with my family daily or every other day and want to ensure this career choice supports that goal. Your guidance would mean a lot to me as I look for a positive change and a successful future in this industry. Thank you for your time and advice. Best regards, John

Tours are $1k PER AXLE? Old video. Right now in 2024, Michelin XDS2s are $1k PER TIRE. YEP, $8K for new tires for the rear of the truck.

I’m in Alaska, been running dump trucks, low boys, flat decks, belly’s, side dumps, tankers etc… ran a 85’ bagged 379 Pete dump truck for a season and never had an issue. Plus , older trucks are easier to work on. I prefer walking beam suspension for all the off road driving we have up here. But hey, it’s all preference too. New trucks are nice, but expensive, and I don’t care for computers in my trucks. Great video though bud!

When the air is dumped as it should be when dumping a load, air ride trucks are solid side to side. I have many years experience and I drive only air ride! You should not be allowed to publish this mis information. And this shows your lack of experience!

Normally, dump trucks with air suspension have an automatic tipper lowering system so that exactly what you describe doesn't happen. For such 3-4 axle tippers we also prefer steel suspension, but the semis here all have air suspension and are more stable than yours. But we don't have any frameless tippers either. These are death traps. We only have axes with outer planets here. Normal axels are only for long haul trucks. They consume a little more fuel but they don't get hot and you have more ground clearance. Get a nice Scania and you have a tipper truck that you can turn around on a postage stamp. It doesn't need 100 gauges, it shows you what you need to know and you don't need to know what the display doesn't show.

You said you could get something like the case excavator for $30,000 three years ago, what would it be today? Also what do you think it would have been around 2010? I think we are heading for worse times than then. I think things are going to look better, but fall off a cliff in a year or so. A long sloped cliff. Thank you for sharing the info, many have learned the hard way and/or just started their business at the wrong time.

When you display a photo (for instance, showing and comparing 4 different types of trucks), you are too brief with the display. Leave photos up a little longer so viewers can digest. But your knowledge and content is great!

I hate to be the one to say this, but majority of the information that you’re preaching is faults especially the airbags with what you said about airbags then explain how dump wagons have airbags, adult perfectly fine? There are plenty of good dump trucks that have airbags you just have to dump the bags and know how to drive and no truck was a factory dump truck. All trucks come off the assembly line is a bear truck they then go to Oxbody etc. to become a Dump Truck. There’s no such thing as a factory built dump truck.

Not much useful info in this video. Sounds like you are trying to scare people out of buying a dump truck. Absolutely nothing wrong with air ride suspension. Drove a 7axel air ride dump truck 0 issues. Conversion trucks are just fine. Old trucks were built better plain and simple. 500k on a cat motor is nothing to be afraid of. 6nz cat and an 18speed is the perfect combo for a large dump truck. I feel like you tried to make people think you know everything about a dump truck, you literally gave basic knowledge and honestly false information
