Healthy Savannah monitors can become quite tolerant to the humans who care for them in captivity. Although you can never really "tame" a monitor lizard, if you get one while it is young enough, develop a consistent care routine, it can become quite used to your presence and learn to tolerate you. This doesn't mean picking it up and holding it all the time. If you want to do that, monitor lizards aren't for you.

im at the 18 minute mark and cant really see this guy eye to eye on the part about my savannah should be feisty. mine is 14 years old and has a whole room dedicated to him and he can freely leave and will sleep with me and is not unhealthy just loves us and hasnt bit me in over 10 years. i hand feed him also. no scars. to each their own. mine has a great life and it also sleeps in warm water i fill up a couple times a month. he crawls in himself as soon as he realizes its warm water. not everyone has everything figured out. youtube is a great place not to get advice on a monitor. some of your points are good and i agree with but the best monitors i met started with hand feeding then body contact. after that they start to see you as a heat source that feeds and cares for them. you are the ultimate reason they should not be feisty. 14 years of raising him i wouldnt even call myself a professional. i dont know their natural diet but i know they dont pick and choose insect or mouse day out there. they have no concept theyre on a diet so as long as we feed them what they eat in the savannah desert we should be fine. they have rodents in the savnnah and we see they don't turn away from them in captivity. otherwise great video so far. just think my monitor knows how to be agressive since i watch him kill rats yet wont bite my finger when i feed him by hand and he also happens to crawl up my bed and sleep with me and my wife. i dunno. mines great. lived a long life. dont think you have that opinion fully dialed in yet of them.

Don't freak em out like that tho. Dismantling their enclosure is not a good idea. They need a space where they can retreat to and feel safe, don't ever pull them out of their safe space. Be patient, open hand in their space. Dont try and pick them up. Just try and touch his head without them biting. That's good progress.

3 feet? A SMALL female will attain 3 feet. Most in captivity hit 4-5 feet. I've had 4 Savs in the last 12 years, 3 were rescues, and I've yet to have one be less than 3.5 feet as an adult, and that was my small female. 2 of my males both hit 60 inches.

Great facts. Dude. I had a tokay gecko handled him with my bare hands the best way to really get them to calm down is to gently rub the sides of them. They do like that.
