Hey man, dealing with a bad alternator at 50k, dealer wants about 2k in labor to replace it with taking about the whole front end, I just wanted to ask you about the alternator belt tensioner, I don’t quite understand how you loosen it? You just pull up on it and stick a pin so it doesn’t fall back down? Is there nothing to actually loosen/ tighten? Sorry for all the questions, there’s not a whole lot of info out there

Yes, you can look at BMW 335 videos as well. The tensioner is just under the spring load and you just have to relieve spring pressure. and the end goes in its place to hold it back while you placed the belt on and you can also use an Allen key

@@Sideways_N55 figured it out, ended up replacing alternator and all pulleys including the tensioner from above without taking anything off the car. Saved like 3k

No W/G, it’s regular style turbo, with 44mm external dump of the Speedtech manifold. Speedtech offers the kit with external or recirculated dump.

stock trans but FX1000 clutch. We will see if trans can handle it but they don’t like 800-1000whp.
