Only damage was sandy shrubbery and trees lost leaves? Are you kidding me?
@zearaiza4 күн бұрын
@@tarkusnj3 the houses here are built to withstand hurricanes as these are common during aug-oct period. Trees fell in some areas. The minimal impact where I passed does not reflect the rest of the island. And power was out for around 75% of the island for more than 24hrs, and there are still households without power days after the hurricane passed. Fortunately, there are no casualties. And life is back to almost normal now. Just sad to see the plants and trees with no leaves, or looking burned (impact of strong winds). But they will go back to normal again, give it a month or so.

@@marsbetelgeuse7599 in my area, yes. We don’t have big trees. But in other areas, they had to do a major clean up since roads were blocked by large branches. Houses generally are fine because they’re built to withstand hurricanes. Hopefully, everyone’s fine, and that the only major thing that happened was almost 75% of the island lost electricity at some point 🙏

I grew up in this area. Before it was considered Gilbert Nature Reserve that building that you said was a residence (known as Springfield) was my preschool and then a community center. But before that, it was the place where my ancestors (slaves) resided. The home was a mansion and slave quarters. Also, when you got to the end of the video, that’s the tracks (old railroad trail). One end leads to the church I used to go to. I’d walk through there every week. Thanks for sharing this video. Brought back many memories 😊

Some people have different mindsets, and you can't change them. The best response is to give them a smile while still being respectful and kind - you'll loose nothing and afterall, won't ruin your day. I used to work in Bermuda at Elbow Beach, and it is a fantastic country. Living there is a very laid-back lifestyle, but people love boat parties and rum swizzles. I thought arriving there would make me the only Filipino, but I was surprised that there were thousands of Filipinos residing and working in Bermuda. Most of them are professionals and well-educated Filipinos working in the field of finance. In addition, many Filipinos also come from the cruises. People are very polite, and going to church is like experiencing what you see in the movies - close community ties and all well-dressed. I love wearing my coat and tie with Bermuda shorts to match 🙂 I had a wonderful time in Bermuda and will treasure the experience of having lived on such a fantastic island. Now, I'm in Hong Kong doing content videos in KZfaq (still a very new health and wellness channel) and running my own solo business. 🙂

@@zearaiza That is a familiar place for me, as I stayed in the Grotto Inn, for a week, when I first landed in Bermuda, and then moved to Rosemont hotel, (or what, I forgot the exact name) and I stayed there for a month until I found my own one bedroom apartment in Ponciana Road...
