Hi, I usually pick up my palette knives in Europe. Their numbers are high. RGM Italy Plus from 40 to 53, depending on what areas I work on. I start painting with larger knife and use smallest for details.

Hi Ben, Thank you very much. I do my block-in with oil paint, a mixture of burnt sienna, ultramarine blue and white. Sometimes I oil out my canvas before painting. The lines are light because I do not load my brush with paint and use a rag to wipe it off. Hope this was helpful.

Hi Arun, thank you ! in this particular exercise I mainly mixed my colors right on a canvas with a palette knife. I use Nelson Shanks palette (about 26 colors) to which I added cadmium lemon.
