Thing is, Bondrew is much more older, with more experience about this world than Riko could ever have. Those who are able to understand the abyss are those ready to push forward, no matter the cost. We know now that Lysa herself sacrificed someone she loved to get her white whistle. People seem to forget what Riko did to Reg the first time they met, she basically violated every human rights he might have possessed just because "he was just a robot and she wanted to learn more". She has a twisted mind because this world is twisted, whatever the abyss may be, whatever may lay at the end of it. People are drawn to it and, with time passing differently between the dephts and the surface, it's hard to really understand how long it's been for those person down there.

God, the first time I watched this episode, when it aired The sound of the heartbeat when Riko got her hand stabbed, the voice work, the music, the animation Had to pause the episode and go outside for a breather Incredible work from the studio

the ending is a bit controversial among the fans, some think it would've been better to keep the major dead so violet's emotional growth would pay off with her being to continue her life without him but personally I prefer this ending because man, I just want her to be happy

among the ost's there is a song called "tegami" which means letter that is from the Letters and Doll: Looking back on the memories of Violet Evergarden album and is sang by violet's va, the lyrics are a letter for the major and I cry every time I listen to it

Bondrewd is not even evil, that's the worst part, he just is a slave from progress, all he foes is for the sake of humanity and next generstions, i don't say he hasn't done horrible things, but his purpose is pure and kind.

the worst thing is that for the cartridges to work the kids and himself had to genuenly love each other his mind is so alien that he can love and be curios without having any concept of pain one of the best written villains I ever seen

Violet Evergarden is one of my favourite OSTs of all time. Not to mention, apparently Evan Call wrote this OST based on the novel, when the anime wasn't even completed yet. A true talent he is.

I’m case you still don’t know, the old lady in the post office is call Nerine and if you go all the way back to the beginning of the series she is the one that rejects Venedic’s offer for lunch. We get glimpses of her working in the reception throughout the series and in this movie as well.

He clearly loved and cared for the kids, he even knew all their names. It's just that his experiments and wish for progress were as much as important, it's also implied that Zoaholic, the relic que uses to transfer his consciousness is the thing responsible for him being so detached and able to do the bad things he does to the kids.

During the fight in ep 10 Fushi didn't get reborn, remember how in ep 1 the first thing the orb turned into was a rock? The tree basically took all his forms until the only form he had left was his first one - the rock. Anyway i've been enjoying these reactions, to your eternity is one of my favorite series but it's not as well known as other shows so the fandom is pretty small and reactions are few, it's nice to see others appreciating this masterpiece!! Keep up the good work :)

To Bondrewd (loving him like a father) she managed to give him the Blessing of the Abyss, while to Riko (wanting to go on an adventure with her) she allowed her to become his White Whistle allowing her to continue the Journey "together"

Bondrewd thanks to his heirlooms can transfer his consciousness into a new body and return to life (as long as there are Umbra Hands available)

When Reg brought Bondrewd back up from the Sixth Layer, Bondrewd suffered the Curse and was therefore turning into a Remnant like Mitty. Reg crushed him with a huge stone before he completed his transformation into a remnant
