I'm very curious what Zhiyun Gimbal you used, as far as I know, none of them supports 4K/60fps. Can you recommend a gimbal for OnePlus 9 Pro? What is your opinion as a professional about using gimbals for the best smartphones with their own very good internal stability? Or maybe you used some cheap 3-axis gimbal without communication with the smartphone? Regards, Peter
@valmfilmsАй бұрын
Hi! Thanks for the comment. It's one of the old ones, I think it was "Smooth" or something like that. It does not have communication with the smartphone at all. What I did was just set 120fps in the default camera app, lock the exposure and focus and shoot. Later edited in Finalcut pro x. Not sure what to recommend, definitely one of the latest gimbals from DJI maybe.

Film in 120 fps native camera app on gimbal. Filmed clips import onto 24 fps timeline to get magic slow mo, then edit everything.

Did you use the default camera or third-party app camera? And what's the spec of your oneplus, did you get the 12gb ram? My oneplus 9 pro 4k recording stutters a lot in the beginning and I'm frustrated about it.
@valmfilms5 ай бұрын
Yes, default camera app, 120fps 4K. No stuttering on my side at the moment of recording. Now years has passed by and I get some stuttering sometimes, but overall it still works.

Best part is with bubbles:) I believe its so tricky to shoot in that way as there is no manual mode with 4K120fps. Glad to have it on my Axon 40U:) Anyway, looking forward, maybe next video will be ziema-pavasaris? (nice to see that latvian words for seasons are the same as lithuanian:))

Sorry for my late replays, I haven't done much recordings recently. I used native camera app, 120fps 4K, All clips added onto a 25fps timeline. I use Final cut pro X for editing.

@@TheChazas To be honest I'm surprised too. No external lens, only phone camera, stock app, 120 fps, Zhiyun gimbal and a bit of running. Although I spent some time with luts and color correction, but nothing overall resource intensive.

Hi! I've been following your work for a while now, and I'm really amazed by your videos. You have done a really amazing job. You're video was one of the reference points for me before i selected my oneplus 9 pro almost a year back. I do some video and photo work with my camera, this phone is really amazing in its capabilities. But one issue i run into all the time is the AI and enhancements working on the default camera app. I have noticed that you've tried out quiet a lot of different apps for the past few months. I would like to know which app would you suggest for me to get the best out of this camera in video. One of my requirement is being able to match colours with my Sony a7siii in slog. So which app gives the best format for post production and gives the best bitrate for colours on the OnePlus 9pro. You are really amazing! And i love to see your family in these videos. It's really feels very refreshing to watch ❤️❤️ *edit- and i would also like to know which app you used to shoot this specific video. I really like the colours on this one!
@valmfilms Жыл бұрын
Uh man, you have written a lot of text, a hefty comment 😀 I'll try to be short though, for this particular video I used native camera app, simply locked the focus and exposure and shot on 120fps, then brought everything to 25fps timeline and got sweet slow motion. Other app I'm using is Filmic Pro, but have to say that OnePlus 9 doesn't work great with it especially when shooting in log profile, I get crap colors out of it. Overall I'm not really good with all the color grading stuff, I mostly slap some fine LUT on top and it turns out great more or less. But wish you a good luck dude, smartphonvideography is a cool skill to develop. Phones getting better and better every year 🙂

@valmfilms2 жыл бұрын
Yeah man, 120fps is amazing, I did not know that it has this feature before I bought it actually :D Regarding the swap, can't tell, for slow motion it's great, but apart from that I don't think it's much different from other phones in the same category. You have to test it yourself tbh. Good luck. :)
