Good video, my favourite band of all time, this period. I liked your modesty and your genuine interest.

Immediate improvement on my Music Hall MMF 2.3 SE table!! Completely deadens the metal platter "ring" adding more detail, clarity, lower noise floor, and reverb "trails" 9n vocals and instruments are more pronounced. I considered an acrylic platter upgrade but, I'm extremely satisfied with this for only $20 compared to $149 for the platter.

Always remember never ever stack vinyl and CDs to the ceiling especially living in California like I do. Bad for your health (from 976-CREOLEMAN)!

1-Let's SEE ...YES, Led, Buena Vista Social Club of olden times and Gothic music all mentioned AT ONCE, IN ONE SWOOP sounding good through great speakers , or so said Nazz Nomad in 2023. 2-Apparently a man after my own young heart ,as foolish as it was back then, not UNlike King David own heart after God's , or so I hope and pray. Shouldn't be all though? 3-...Shema!!!.

Acrylic mats, do they work? F.....g right they do. I have a blue one from Takmork on the LP60X which I feel has tightened up the bass and reduced the static. Would I ever go back to the bog standard felt? Like hell I would.

I sold Hi-Fi between 1976 and 1983. At that time I bought a Kenwood KD 500 with an ADC LMF II tonearm. The plinth was marketed as "concrete resin" at the time. I had a 500 wpc bi-amped system at the time so it mattered. That is still my main tt. BTW, back in '78 I bought a tonearm lifter that gently raises the arm when the disk ends. I still use it.

It all depends on what your platter is made of. I have an 80mm acrylic platter so more acrylic is not better for me

first of all, if you have a grooved rubber mat, and are seeking improvement, flapping over to the smooth side, a lot of people say that side works better. and of course, if you can't adjust the record arm height , different mats are going to be a problem. I credit the channel here for being first KZfaq audio tips presenter that I ever heard mention the subjectivity of human hearing, but I'm not quite sure he meant it in a scientific way, because it sounded more like a personal deal the way he mentioned it, only briefly in passing. Anyway, I would suggest ten minutes researching what capabilities the human hearing mechanism developed during evolution as essential for human survival, before spending a dime on audio anything, because it didn't evolve for good hi fi testing. glad to hear of the results achieved here. I would have guessed a different outcome , because the reason some table have thick platters is that the mass aids rotational momentum , which helps fight the infinitesimal increase in drag when the record groove has a dynamic impact recorded and the needle actually increases friction at that point, and any variation from speed stability blurs the signal . Yet what this acrylic mat does is separate its mass from bonding with the platter rotation during those critical transitions, and of course, there are many more energy transfer considerations than just that, but if the guy says it works for him, fine with me. personally I m not that sensitive to where speed stability maters when I am listening, but There is no disputing the science of all the little things that matter in good sound reproduction, and I like good sound. unless a table builder thinks a black mat is the only thing that will sell, it is reasonable to consider all of these aftermarket mat materials were available during product development but were not used for a reason .

I don't know if we need more Canada, what I'm sure is that we need less trudeau. By the way, excellent comparison, I am very happy with my 2011 RSD edition which sounds very good.

Loved the rant. Mostly true - everybody is trying to “monetize” and are full of hot takes. Still a lot of good content from genuine people, but a lot of clicky self-loving insiders. BTW nice Sea & the Cake score - get the first LP - it is awesome. Also I never find this quality of LPs at Goodwill like you showed, not even close. Andy Williams yes, Mac Davis yes - Sea & the Cake no way. Also the Neil Young box was an epic score! That Ragged Glory is awesome.

It was the best upgrade I made 3 years ago when I bought it for my 1980 Dual CS505. I now owned a brand new Rega P3 with glass platter and I still use this acrylic mat. Sounded awesome. The added benefit of this acrylic mat is to check my anti skate set up. Get one and you will never regret it.

Good rant! Im not really aware of all the VC drama and dont care much I guess. I have channels I like to watch and others I might find boring or not for me. I havent really found a channel that matches my taste perfectly but maybe it doesnt exist on YT. I like our old auctions! AGK is a good lad too. I bought that Celtic Frost reissue from Amazon but then regretted spending so much on a new reissue and I hate colored vinyl for the most part. So I returned it. Maybe I will find an OG of it someday. Or maybe not. Its fine. Now I know where all my returns go! Haha Cheers Nazz

It cannot be said too much to just be kind to people, don’t mock what you don’t understand, don’t punch down. Happy Birthday David! Have a great day! Are you having to get to these Amazon stores ultra early in order to find vinyl? I went one day and probably arrived around 11:00am and it looked like there had been a nuclear holocaust with everything pretty much picked over and very little left in the bins.

I don't line up first day. An hour after opening and there's less people. It's a hell of a mess agreed, but persistence pays off. The digging thru the mess gets tedious I will say.

As vinyl grew over the last few years its turned into more of a brag than a sharing of music. Some still talk more about the music and the adventure of obtaining those items, and that is what keeps me watching those. But have to agree, the older days are gone and its a new field out there. Great pickups, didnt know about the new Smithereens lp so I need to check it out.
