I had one... you need them to brush EVERY day cause they shed A LOT. Your home will be full of hair if you don't. You won't ever be able to vacuum your home enough without doing it. But their wonderful, goofy and loving behaviour (velcro dogs) is worth it. You'll never be or feel alone... And they feel very nice (the coat is one of the softest touching experience EVER). And they LOVE to cuddle. I miss my Nala a lot... And the biggest minus of this breed is their short life span... Next time I will try to get a Bernerdoodle... Longer life expectancy and less shedding.

First, not all german shepherds are the same. Some are higher working dogs, others are “show quality”. One thing I will say is never ever isolate your gsd from the family pack! They will become aggressive and destructive. They are truly velcro dogs. They will have anxiety issues if you put them in a crate most of the day!

You let your shih tzu jump up on the bed and then hop down, eventually the dog is going to develop a hip issue and a spinal issue. Either have a step, or a ramp for them to climb up and down the bed or couch. Or, train them to stay off it. Trust me, you don't want your baby to have a spinal or hip issue.

My Shi Tzu/ Jack Russell absolutely loves people to an almost embarrassing degree. He approaches shyly and quickly starts following the newcomer around, getting zoomies and showing off his toys He is well liked by other dogs too.

Another myth, that theyre low energy...4 of mine, run all day and still want to play at night too. Always had shih tzus. Had one hes run 4 kids ragged, rest for an hour and back at it.

I have 2 working class GSDs and have had them over 2 years, I take mine out 2 times a day and throw a rope ball for them for around 15 minutes each time for each dog and I take them for walks in the woods for a mile or two a couple of times a week. That seems to be enough to keep them happy and out of trouble.
