Hey, you posted an engine show video that I’ve watched and can’t y find again. It had a one off engine made long ago that had a stationary piston and a moving cylinder. Someone had restored it and had it at a show and you interviewed him. What was that engine called? I’d like to research it. Thanks

It runs beautifully.

Brilliant. Why don't all model builders put a flywheel on there engines rather than something dangerous, like a propeller?
@reddrryder18 күн бұрын
The propeller on this one is also a flywheel and no more dangerous than any spoked flywheel.

Any back story about who built it or how old it is? Really cool!
@reddrryderАй бұрын
No idea who built it. I would expect it to be pre-war.

Beautiful work, it’s a shame Stuart Turner’s don’t supply castings for this range of engines anymore.

Doesn't it have a Idle screw, What is that a antique kit From Popular Mechanics, Or did you Build that.

Bonjour Gil, Where do you add the fuel ? The large glass box in the top seems to be an oil lubricator and is empty, am I right, is it normal ? Amicalement, Raphaël
@reddrryderАй бұрын
Good question... Oiler is used as a fuel rank. Not needed as it is easier to pour fuel into the open top float bowl on the carburetor.
@showbikesbmx4437Ай бұрын
That's so rad! Too bad no useable drive so you can mount it to something. Be cool to put in an RC boat or something
@reddrryderАй бұрын
Fan end can easily be a drive.

Better get some oil in that oiler
@reddrryderАй бұрын
Nope. That drip oiler is the fuel tank! I added fuel directly to the float bowl

Bonjour Gil, That is not steam but it is quite impressive ! The concern would possibly the noise and the smoke in your workshop 😁 Amicalement, Raphaël
@reddrryderАй бұрын
Thanks, Raphael. I ran it today in our garage with the door open. It would be easy to pipe the exhaust outside for an indoor run. As for the noise it really isn't loud at all. My camera has a sensitive microphone.
