honestly the game is not new user friendly, the logic system is extremly complicated and it's impossible to play the game without knowing it. If you like learning complicated games, this is for you, but if you are like me and don't like complicated systems that do nothing to add to gameplay and is only used as a hurdle to the rest of the game, don't play this.

@@StargazerTheFurry I would agree that the game is not new user friendly. I had a heck of a time figuring it out, but honestly if you are a gamer who likes survival games and are looking for something a little less casual , then I would definitely recommend playing this! (Editing spelling)

i kind of wish survival and apocalypse had casual / extreme settings. I feel like newer players finding out that being scratched by a zombie is enough to kill them is kind of a weird introduction to PZ. Instead, Survival could have been split into two modes where the only major difference would be zombie speed and infection type. Maybe apocalypse's casual and extreme added in random sprinters on top of potential scratch zombification, but thats me. I know you can remedy it with sandbox, but it feels like I'm taking the bunny slope because I hate how infection works in pz

Thx for the content!, regarding your battery charge issue you can setup something like: 1) LowerLimit = MEMORY(0.5) 2) UpperLimit = MEMORY(0.9) 3) BatteryRatio = LOGIC READER(Device: Battery, Var: Ratio) Use ratio instead of charge, easier to read goes from 0 to 1 4) GenEnable = COMPARE UNIT(IN1: BatteryRatio, IN2: LimitSelelector, Operation: Less) 5) LimitSelelector = SELECT UNIT(IN1: LowerLimit, IN2: UpperLimit, Selector: GenEnable) Input order is important here 6) LOGIC WRITER(Device: Generator, VAR: On, In: GenEnable) This is a poors man LATCH :D What will happen with this setup: if generator is off selector will choose LowerLimit memory (0.5) for compare unit. Once compare unit determines that battery is lower than that it will switch on Generator, on the same signal Selector will switch to upper limit memory (0.9) and compare unit will hold ON until charge will go above 0.9. And then generator will go off, selector will switch to 0.5 and cycle repeats But truly try to go for ic coding. Ic housing will be only 10W more than this setup, and you can do same with few lines of code. If you want i can provide the code as well

To fix your ingot stacker situation, take a look through the Digital Valve Chute (from the powered chute kit). You can set it to allow a specific number of item stacks through before closing. Keep the stacker to get your ingot stack size you want (50, 100, 500, etc.), then on the chute, you open it to get one stack, it it will close on its own.

Turn respawn off but play with population settings like peak population. So there is no respawn but over time for a period of time zed pop will ramp up leaving areas you didn't go to to turn into nightmares later on in your playthrough while also keeping areas you patrol frequently still have threats from time to time till the ramp up multiplier reaches its peak then true clearing can happen. Of course this changes slightly if you have your zeds roam. I like the idea of possibly clearing the map though it never really happens but it gives me a goal.

Project Zomboid doesn't have any ending, you just try to survive in this world, and there is no end, you will die no matter what. If it's not by zombies, it would be when you decide to stop playing or deleting your save. I like games with a ending, so i need or a clear objective in my mind. And for me, a true ending would be to erase all zombies on the map, including Louisville. It's my long term objective when i start a new playthrough. The problem is, with respawn on, there is just a single way to prevent respawn : Wall around the entire map. It's boring, i know it because i already tried. I had like Muldraugh and another town completely empty and with wood wall around. After some IRL Weeks, i knew it wasn't a realistic way to play. Even with cheats on and infinite supply of woods/nails immortality and stuff, i still would have to spend litteral hours if not days to wall around the map. So a simple solution was to turn off respawn. I think it's more realistic this way. And more fun for me to play.

I like to play on very high population with respawn off but high rates of zombies reviving. While it is possible to clear out huge areas its time consuming and dangerous, any zombie could stand up at any time. it gives more urgency to clean up piles of corpses my friends leave everywhere that cause server lag too.

I usually set my zombie respawn to be a yearly occurrence. Once a year, you get a fresh batch of zombies reappear back in the world that you have to clear out in order to get to the new loot that comes in once a year. The scenario I have is that once a year the Government drops in fresh canned foods, and other survivors got there first and took it back to their houses, but they all got infected and turned or killed each other over the supply drops. Me, as the smarter, better survivor, goes out to loot their houses and clear out the new zombies. Also, my character is immune to the Knox Virus (I turned off Zombie infection) so my character can't contract it, but the virus made the Zombies super strong (I cranked up their HP and Damage to max) so while he can't catch the Knox, the zombies can still easily tear him apart. I think the best thing to do is trade offs. Make one aspect more palatable, while making something else more difficult.

Zombie respawn makes for a much bigger hassle than it does a challenge when playing a game with very big challenges regarding looting. You have to fight more for less resources.. and in many cases the amount of resources you get are at best merely eaten up and you never get to get a proper foothold. When you play solo you have sleep to worry about. You cannot get to properly defend your "base", the moment you have to leave it in order to stock up the days are generally not long enough to the point where you can reliably get back in time and might have to stay someplace overnight. Then you get back and you might well find that your temporary home has been overrun and you are often already tired because you had to fight your way back. To me the challenge ENDS when I manage to build a base and have farming. I survived and I damn well ignore the message "This is how you died". My character is alive and I end the challenge. He DOESN'T get bored and depressed when surviving a fucking apocalypse. He is happy just staying back and venturing out only when explicitly necessary.. and when he does he's armed to the teeth with enough bullets and weapons to make taking out the entirety of Zombiefied Kentucky a breeze. So no, I consider Zombie Respawning a hassle and as such I turn it off. I'd much rather have harder zombies.

After almost a year of playthrough with respawn with and without variation, I realized that the concept of zombies endlessly respawning in itself is unrealisitc if, and only if, the zombies are not procreating with eachother to replace their ranks of the zombies that you killed, and there is not an endless supply of live humans that can supply the turn over rate of zombies killed by survivors. It is more realistic to play with a finite amount of zombies that would turn from a finite amount of living people. Unless you are running a server where 40 different players are spawning in at any one time and shotgun shells spawn into the world every six hours.

All that aside. Sprinter players are the most hardcore breed of Zomboid player.

dumbest question ?, who asked you to make this ? answer: absolutely fucking not, it's cheating zombies respawn which is completely unrealistic and dumb and is also less fun because you have to take back everything every time, it's just BS, if you played for several years in game there's a lot of zombies still which makes no sense, should be low as shit or none at all, zombie respawn is not rewarding at all and also there is not infinite npcs in the game, so that's BS

If we want to speak about zombie realism then the timeframe at which one lives in zombie apocalypse matters. A fresh apocalypse would be the toughest to survive , because the Zs would be stronger , less decayed and the period of danger would be intense and rapid... but as the number of zombies became more than humans the survival would become easier , zombies would struggle to feed properly and in turn start decaying , loosing sight and strenght. By the time theres only lone survivors a horde could only exist where someone has died recently and refueled the local Zs.

The game only increases z population (via peak multiplier after peak day) for cells you have not yet visited. Interestingly, if you turn respawns off and hop in a car on day one and drive around visiting each cell as soon as possible, the populations of those cells get locked in at super low numbers (usually 30-40 zs per cell), because its early on in the infection, instead of hundreds or thousands had you visited it for the first time after peak day when the infection really ramps up. Theoretically you could nullify the peak multiplier by visiting every cell before peak day. This would effectively quell the z population and stop it from ever growing and make clearing the entire county much easier.

Some of them are pretty nice! :) One thing about video editing though: your clips for the tips are very asymmetrical in length. On some you move on instantly so we can barely hear you speak the full sentence while on others you let the gameplay go one for 10-20 seconds after you're finisched (i.e., the boar tip). Do leave a short break before moving on but don't let it drag on for too long (maybe 5 full seconds).

I’ve got near 400 hours or so. On/off playing it. I always get to the same point when I stop a playthrough. Start beginning of April, and I stop around August. I just get bored. Make a main base (usually rosewood), then a few loot bases just to rest up during big loot runs. I use a lot of mods, basically cheating. I turn xp multiplier to 25, cause fuck grinding in games. I keep power and water on for a long time cause again, fuck grinding. I like to hoard, who doesn’t? A dozen ice chests full of food, needs a lot of power and dealing with 3 generators every couple days is a hastle. Once my junkyard is set up, and my 50+ boxes filled with loot, I farm and craft. Once I get a power armour suit, I explore where I don’t usually go. All these map mods, and I still don’t visit a lot of them. High population, as insane is just too much. Peak pop hits around a month and a half. Get my initial set up, set up. I don’t use fire to clear, what’s the point of all the guns and ammo? So yeah insane pop with just using guns is way too much. My last play through I spent 4 days just clearing the main road in Muldraugh. And there was probably another month in game to clear the area. It’s a lot of fun, it gets boring when there’s no end game or NPCs. I just want to build a colony with NPCs and have horde night. It would make the game complete to me.
