Question. I am working on an application for a client. They gave me motion capture data from Vicon, but it is only the skeleton. I don't have an avatar mesh that is rigged to the skeleton. At the very beginning of your video is the ViconFemale_v2 and ViconMale_v2 avatar files. I basically just need those default avatars so I can extrapolate from them and make custom character meshes with these skeletons. Do they come with Shogun software license? Or is it possible to just 'rig' the skeleton to whatever and then retarget to UE mannequin or does some of this mesh data also transfer in the retargeting?
@PixelProf
@PixelProf 13 сағат бұрын
Yup... the full model is available from the Vicon Shogun program folders, but Vicon Shogun can also just export the mesh along with the animation. Here's a video on that: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/g9GUrbiQ27_VhnU.html If your client can export from Vicon as shown in that, you'll have everything you need.

ummmm, is it possible to use keyframes on the motion sequencer to modify the example 'bar' visibility by modifying the 'Alpha' color channel of the simple color, instead of switching it to being a material?

Hey there! Thanks for this video, its a fantastic culmination of the previous videos into one, very helpful and I'll be able to use this to begin creating some usable graphics. One question though, unlrelated to this video but I have been pulling my hair out trying to figure out how to make a countdown timer (think waitscreen for an event to start). It seems easy enough to do using HUD/Widgets but by the nature of the Motion Design tools this doesn't seem to work since using Rundown to play levels doesn't actually "play" them and therefore I cannot figure out how to trigger a widget or hud to appear in the editor without using the Play in Editor function.
@RobertLeveille
@RobertLeveille Күн бұрын
I actually solved this myself. Well, rather I determined that using widgets is just a colossal pain for Motion Design elements but I discovered the very simple "clock" animator (smh) to turn a text actor into an easy and intuitive to use timer.

@@nimitverma3460 yup… here’s an older video I made on that: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/la6ca8KWv5rXdo0.htmlsi=ubuE0ak4MmkBJJVc It should still work, but there is also a method for setting up materials that ensure the pixel surface is always facing the camera. If the cube in a fresh project works, I’d look into the geo that I was replicating and/or the overall project being used for possible causes. Sorry I couldn’t be of more help.

Hello, thanks for this video. But I have a question! How do I render this, because when you render, the activate and deactivate, will not work. It starts directly to fire on frame 1 Thank you for the answer.
@PixelProf
@PixelProf 12 күн бұрын
In theory, the “Deactivate” key at the first frame should keep the effect “off” at the start of your render. If not, maybe add another deactivate key several frames earlier on the timeline, before the start of the sequence and also before any pre-roll number of frames?

I admire your patience. For me the clumsiness of this metahuman thing is just pure torture. The convoluted nature of this program just prevents any creativity to take place. It's better to get a movie camera and film a real actor. I wonder what these Unreal Engine engineers have in their minds when they put out a software that doesn't work and make people waste the precious time of their lives trying to find out labyrinthic workarounds to get anything moving. Try to get a decent body for these metahumans and you're done. You're obliged to stick with Epic Games' gorgeous underwear derived directly from Protestant Puritanism and its astronomical levels of sexual repression.

Beautiful and elegant solution - thanks so much! Sure beats brute-force incremental bake and add alternatives :-D However - strangely, when I've added the Facial Animation to the Body, and set its slot to FaceSlot, I get the *full* facial animation (not just the neck and head movement). I can even delete the Face Skeletal Mesh from the sequence, and the full neck and facial animation is present even though I've added animation only to the body.... (Using UE 5.4.2) @pixelprof - thoughts on why this might be??
@PixelProf
@PixelProf 21 күн бұрын
The animation blueprint for the head/face component in MHs "reads" the animation/pose state of the body and uses that as a starting point, so if you put face performance animation onto the body, it "cascades" to the head/face component "automatically".

Great tutorial! But despite being practical in some scenarios, the main purpose of hooking up CSV or other external data is the ability to change data in runtime, but sadly Data tables are static, and there's no ability to trigger re-import of CSV via blueprints ASFAIK, only with C++ (And still, it will be manual, not automatic on CSV update). There're ways with plugins like runtime datatable and custom CSV parsing though, will be great if you could shine the light on them aswell!

I love your videos and they are extremely helpful but I am finding myself frustrated waiting for your larger explanation/guide because you skipped over the majority of developing the blueprint and instead used your pre-existing one. In the video when you loaded in the BP Actor you show a section "Default" which shows a button correlating to the BP and allowing you to set the Data Table and Text Actor. I don't have this in my project and I don't know what step I missed. I am really enjoying your videos as I am trying to learn how to use these Motion Design features to develop a broadcast package but lacking prior programming an UE5 knowledge makes this very challenging for me since when you/other videos or whoever gloss over subjects assuming the viewer has prior knowledge. I get it of course, I'm just venting. Anyway wonderful videos that you have here, indeed very helpful for me. I look forward to more of your videos, the one you've mentioned with a broader explanation, and even perhaps some more attention given to Layman's explanations. :)

@PixelProf Thanks for the tutorial. Its easy to follow. I'm trying to recreate this in Unreal 5.4 and encountering some issues. I'm new to MetaHumans and trying to combine MetaHuman Animator animations with body motions from Mixamo or Reallusion. None of the tutorials I've found (iBrew, JSFilmz, Bad Decisions, etc.) have worked. I liked your video because using Blueprints didn't break anything. However, your tutorial works except when using a walking motion where the root position changes. Using a Blueprint on a character in the sequencer seems to makes the character walk in place. I've tried to find a solution to allow forward motion/changing root position in the sequencer while keeping the head animation from MetaHuman Animator but haven't had any luck. Any advice you could provide would be greatly appreciated.
@PixelProf
@PixelProf Ай бұрын
Forward motion should work, as long as it’s in the original body animation. Does the forward motion work without head animation, but the stops working with head animation applied? The idea with this blueprint approach is that the body animation should be unaffected.
