This is a charismatic meeting and the trick to start with was meant to be messed up. At 4:49 he changes the deck. Look closely. He is even confident that the audience do not check afterwards.

i really like that he messed up. just proves he’s still only human. even if this crazy mo fo did repeatedly stan himself to make a fistula of scar tissue so he could then stab himself for real without blood or injury. That’s some MAGIC level dedication to your craft. I ain’t doing it😂 not even for a few mil thank you!

It's not a good trick to rely on someone to pick a card from seeing it flash up. It was too quick for her the first time, then she doesn't want to say she couldn't pick one out again so she just picks a card that should be in there. And unless Blaine flicked everything too fast anyway, she will have seen the 6 of hearts even if it wasn't the most prominent so can't really complain there.

That's what I love about being a magician. It's almost impossible to "fail" a trick when you have slight of hand ready at all times!

can we acknowledge that he purposesly added a failed gag to the end of the second trick to make the humour of not quite getting it right the first time around seem like it was part of the plan.

Ok so when he show her the cards while doing that zap think with the card he somehow did it in a way that she could only see the card with ACE ♠ but she chose not to take that card and chose a different card in her mind. I guess🤔

David knew that the girl had messed up by either not remembering or making up a card. He played it off as his mistake when he could have called her out to protect his own ego. What a legend.
