Sick video! Been hammering stripers near farfield but haven’t had luck targeting any other species. Any tips?

Thanks! I’d say just try to find the sand, I know that’s where you’ll likely find the sea robin, and wherever there’s sea robin, there will typically be fluke nearby. Definitely recommend using at least intermediate sinking line as well. But sometimes it’s all about being in the right place at the right time. Tight lines.

If you have waders or don’t mind getting wet then I’d recommend short beach or the autobahn society bird sanctuary on the other side. Quite a hike but some dudes I know hammer fat stripers on the fly constantly on outgoing tide over there

@theavidsportsman9490
@theavidsportsman9490 4 жыл бұрын
Any inshore rod will do, I personally use a Star Rod LITE, but there’s a great variety of rods that will work. I’d recommend a reel size of 4000, it will be able to handle pretty much anything you may run into on the flats. I like daiwa reels, like the BG. Just make sure you don’t dunk it, Daiwa isn’t the best at sealing their reels, and they typically don’t last long if they’re dunked in saltwater.
