I have to shift my 01 manually from 1st and 3rd and my Speedo doesn’t work either so different gears, might try this, bc I was going to just put a different transmission in

Thanks man today I took it to my mechanic and told him to replace the starter switch harness and trans speed sensor and it solved my problem. Thanks man.

No. Not that I remember. If giving you issues, just unplug the battery for a while. But mine worked right away.

Thanks. My symptoms were , no speedo, no tach, odometer and trip odometer not working, driving like it was stuck in third and check engine light with codes P1860, P0785, P0758, P0753, P0740! Changing this ignition switch fixed it all. was oreilly's part, MasterPro Ignition Switch Part # 2IS136. All the other parts store had it but near me only oreilly's had it in stock.

Did you have to do anything with the anti theft/security system or disconnect the battery before or after, or anything that might have to be Avoided or reset? I just don't want to trip the security. Also are your problems still gone from this fix?

Ok but the ignition control module is a part in the engine so im not sure what harness you bought but when i search up the part you name in this video I get a sensor that goes near the throttle, not a wire harness.

ignition control module is in the distributor. its actually the ignition switch. great video,,,, thank you for the upload.

With mine I dont have a fuel gauge, speedo, odometer, and coolant gauges. I changed the cluster and all the same gauges didnt work. Any ideas?

I also have a 1997 Silverado. My 4 mm 6 point socket removed the etorx under the steering column, but my 4 mm socket is bigger than the smaller etorx bolts that hold the ignition starter wiring harness on. What did you use to remove the wiring harness etorx bolts by the keyed ignition switch???

Truck is having intermittent issues, randomly loses speedo and tach, as soon as I lose tach and speedo it wants to stay in 3rd. Truck starts and runs fine and I can put it into second.

32hrs on line 40 hrs of trubble shooting , and you video saved my sanity 🤣 thanks man!!!!!!! The issue was spot on, no speed no tac, no shift light, mine had a bad contact where the wires go into switch , solid white wire 👍 Thanks

Only my gas gauge is going haywire but i do have the stalling going on I came across this video after i swapped a bunch of parts already! I've taken the old switch and cleaned it up trying to decide if a new switch would help me

Your video was helpful, thanks. I had much the same issues - began with a "check engine" light after six or seven miles at highway speed. No codes and it would be off upon restarting. Devolved into an intermittent loss of tach, speedo, PRNDL accompanied by the transmission not shifting into fourth gear. The fix: I cleaned the ignition key module with CRC-QD followed by Deoxit - D5. Flooded the key cylinder with the CRC, inserted the key in and out and cycled the cylinder back and forth from on to aux. Repeated with the Deoxit (contains a dielectric lubricant). Problem(s) gone. The cluster lamps are all brighter.

Would this cause your Speedometer to be off? Not a ratio or tire size problem. Owned it for 16 years and now my speedos off about 15 mph fast

The story was great, they got what they deserved. But what's confusing to me is it's made out to be that the neighbor is on land that isn't even his, with a bunch of unregistered vehicles. I honestly thought I'd be looking at a tent at this point.... How does he have a home built on ground he's not allowed on??

That home is not the squatters. They live in the out buildings next to it. There's over an acre you cannot see from this view where the cars are
