Far too much weight above the axles. Could work better for road travel with a much lower CG, and less mass.

Hiya, are you running fcr's on both bikes, 39 or 41 and would you recommend them on an elefant? Thanks Lee.

That hitch has to be the most overbuilt design I could imagine it looks like it would work well but wow that's without a doubt the last piece you will have to worry about giving out on you you could wrap the whole rig around a tree and the only thing that will be arrow straight will be your hitch lol
@graemesydney385 жыл бұрын
Good reasoning, good design and good workmanship, but overweight and over-engineered would be my guess. Did you finish the project?

What is your target weight for the trailer when it is done, before putting in any cargo?
@followtheelefant2326 жыл бұрын
It's an airless paint gun made by Graco.
@victoriapaquette57736 жыл бұрын
what kind of paint gun is that?
@Gantzz3216 жыл бұрын
I sure hope you have some sort of breaks on the trailer. With that much weight in motion an you hit the breaks on the bike, it will just pile that force into the rear end and it you are not 100% straight it will cause the back wheel to break grip with the ground an push out sideways on you. An then stuff gets real fun from their on out. A small light weight trailer would not have the same mass so would not be as much of a concern.

Yeah. It worked pretty well for the most part but is heavy. The shock on the trailer by mounting it to the rear wheel wasn't working for me so this is my solution. The weight could be fixed with using machined aluminum parts.
@CornShuck4CE6 жыл бұрын
I’ve wondered why there not making it this way already. Takes the shock off the front of the trailer. But 30 pounds WOW. not good for a small bike. Kipmoto claims his whole trailer minus box is 38.

Well.....I see you are enjoying your trip...great ! When we met at the HU event in California ( how are those Volcano's in Argentina?) I was curious as to how you both were doing. I just found the sticker you gave me with your blog site/you tube channels. NOW...I need to catch up on your adventures. Have fun you two...stay safe and hopefully your adventures are all that you hoped for...just watch out for those Volcano's !

Yeah, we were actually surprised the road was still open. We are just using our Sena 10c communicators. They are a camcorder and communicator all-in-one, and when filming it records the conversation we're having in real-time. They will sync with other Sena models and still record their audio as well (which we did with Ehren's dad in this video).

Super cool. I always wanted to get a good view of one of these fires. Pretty eerie landscape especially on a cool evening. What are you using to record your audio along with the video?

nice trailer guys :)
@hhiser62067 жыл бұрын
Nice start and well thought out . That being said you should learn to TIG weld and build it out of alluminium tube 6061 with about a 3 /32 " wall. Stay withe bottom design make it like the trailer swing arm, I would make a tarp top out of your choice of water proof material and strap it down to the lower portion of the trailer. the front end of the trailer will need bridging support for those hime joints. That vertical tubing wouldn't last more than a thousand miles if that the constant flexing with a full load (200 lbs?) will snap that right off. Hope this helps stay safe!

Hello my friends. I've been looking for a long time a trailer for my motorcycle I want to travel with my dogs.. I have a Honda transalp 2012 So far it's the best I see ... My best regards to you From Patagonia Chile
@followtheelefant2327 жыл бұрын
Hello! Thank you for your comments. A lot of research and even more development went into the trailer. Many have told us we should start marketing them. I think the design is solid so far, however it would need to be much lighter and a little smaller to be really useful for many bikes. Also we have many things that a normal motorcycle trailer may or may not need. It would probably be easy enough to change a bit to be suitable for dogs also i would guess. Hopefully in about 1 years time we will be in Patagonia ourselves with our trailer.
@juanantonio6747 жыл бұрын
Hello my friends... Thanks for answering.. The trailer is pretty solid.. It may be lighter with tubes and aluminum. I hope to visit Patagonia . You will like them a lot .. I will be watching your videos My best regards to you juan antonio
