The Jewish calendar/year begins on Nisan, the start of spring. The Julian calendar starts in January, where it is the cold season in the northern hemisphere, particularly Italy. The fact that the SAn calendar also starts in spring makes me appreciate the alignment with the way God instructed Moses to keep time.
