There is 0 percent chance that the RFU will let Jones take another international coaching role in Europe during the notice period. Maybe slightly more that he could go to a SH team.

I am probably in a small minority on this issue because I think what Jones has done is very poor and his reported reasons somewhat pathetic, obviously he is a good coach but i don't buy his reasons for wanting out they just don't hold water in my opinion. I understand it's a blow however England will employ two new conditioning coaches and a new defence coach and if they pick wisely they will be really good at their well payed jobs . Ps Jones won't be coaching anyone else in the next 12 months unless the RFU lets him as he is under a legally binding contract.

Eddie Jones was an antagonistic coach at best, but perhaps the issues we routinely heard about regarding working environment had more to do with RFU than it does the coach, because there’s no way Borthwick is the same type of negative coach Jones was. Not defending Borthwick, but I’d be shocked for anyone to label him stylistically the same as Eddie.

I'm sure Felix has some sort of contingency plan going forward be it taking a sabbatical for a few months or just taking time to consider his next move. I hope they have a slot for him in Ireland which will free up Simon to concentrate on the head coach duties while Andy is away and leave Felit to take over Simon's job as defense coach. I'm sure Andy Farrell has already been in touch with him and offered him something. Either way I wish Felix best wishes going forward.

Ireland "the world cup (failures) getting unfairly thrown at them" Really ....... Unfairly. The World Cup has now been around for 37 years, it is not a recent thing. To win the World Cup and become World Champions you need to win 3 knock out games in a row ....... and yet in 37 years of trying the Irish have NEVER won a single knock out game ...... not one game ....... let alone 3 in a row ....... Ireland's World Cup failures are NOT a little thing, and if they genuinely want to suggest that they are the World's Best Team they need to get that monkey (actually it is now a 10 ton Gorilla) off their back. South Africa are World Champions and should deservedly be called the best team in the World for at least the next couple of years.

All speculation atm. Could it have been he wanted attack, he got defence..then he wanted to be considered for the Lions and was told he couldn't. Borthwick has dithered around on Sinfield. We were told he hadn't got the experience at international coaching level (and that was backed up by Jones immediate impact)...Felix Jones leaving is a massive setback for Eng. It puts them back at the start again and is going to get everyone in the Eng setup questioning themselves, lowering moral and confidence..what a let down.

Walters who Felix works well with has gone to Ireland. Apparently Felix's family has been happily settled back home in Dublin and he's been commuting from Ireland for the England job...Ireland seems a very strong possibility, as current Defence Coach Simon Easterby is taking on the Head Coach Role, while Andy Farrell is with the Lions. So the Defence spot is open. That or the B&I Lions.

In theory Chieka is a major scoop. Wherever he has coached he's improved the team. I was shocked and angry at McKellar leaving more so because of the circumstances such of the lack of an attack coach etc. The problem with Chieka is the 1 year contract. England Rugby has bomb damage left over from the Eddie Jones era ,yes there's improvement, yes we see a new road but The RFU is a dinosaur still,innovation is an issue other countries embrace foreign coaches accept it in 2024 ,Jones and Sinfield are not going to wait around, in the Ireland and South Africa setups now they attract innovators Felix Jones will probably end up with Andy in Australia and back home or with Rassie in South Africa, could not see him in New Zealand but much depends on results there in the next while, not a happy clappy camp there either, would suspect he would go back to Ireland, as for England something is wrong let's hope progress isn't derailed. Your correct Borthwick is very àkward with the press hopefully not with assistant coaches and players

Think Bortwick is using the Eddie jones rule book for managing coaches. Bortwick has no rugby philosophy he just wants to copy what others do and hope it comes right. While England had improved , the last 6 games played England won 2 one against Ireland last minute score, and one against a tier 2 nation japan a 4 losses and this is what England were pinning their hopes on. It’s been almost two years now and the same old same old, are England now going back to rebuilding under a new coach so when they lose now it will be down to new rebuild. Fact is it’s the head coaches job to keep his team happy and together and on this bortwick is absolutely at fault. Bortwick needs to go soon he has little or nothing show for two years as head English coach. Eddie jones was much more successful in his first two years.

It is a massive blow to England and Borthwick. As for Jones, he might not be going anywhere. Apparently he is on a 12 month notice period, so the RFU have the option of putting him on gardening leave. This might seem churlish, but since Eddie walked straight into the Aus job after securing an exit deal from England I wouldn't be surprised if this is what happens.
@davidwalker2402

And that would say that bortwick and England have much more problems when coaches would rather leave in contract than stay in a regime that treats them like sh1t and their own head coach effectively does nothing about it. This is no different than what England had under Eddie jones except Eddie jones had much better results after two years than bortwick.

It would look terrible, optics wise by an RFU that already doesn't look great. However, while they could implement it in regards to him going to another National Team, most likely his home country of Ireland (which would look awful), IF, Andy Farrell wanted him for the B&I Lions and they tried to stop it, that would bring an absolute storm down on their heads.

Hard games but came out 50/50. NZ bounced back powerfully against the Argies, but I think the Argies are best set to take some scalps and win against AUS in both if they don't blow hot and cold as they are known to do. I think, no matter who the winner is of the Championship, the Argies are best positioned to make the most gains and set this as their best ever showing at the tournament.
