I had my first baby one year ago! Followed Emma on insta and bought her flashcard. I gave birth in 5h15, manage pain with the comb, pressure point and TENS machine, no tearing! One thing that also help me : my boyfriend was doing pressure point in my hand and was able to notice when the contraction was going down. He was telling me that the wave was coming down and every time, he was right and it helped me relax my body. Wishing you a smooth birth!

Tip: for phone distractions, create a new do not disturb mode, if you have an ipphone. you can custome it so you receive messages/calls from certain people (i.e. family members)

Another big thing that helps with dilation is movement. Every 15-30 mins move position. Even if you’re just standing or leaning, sway. If you have an epidural, cam and the nurses can help move you.

I had birthing photography done, and if cam needs a visual on how to be with you if you don’t want stimulation etc, and just need support, I can dm them to you. (I’m not nude) lol

💙🩵 Ive loved every episode of this pod and thank you for addressing these things what people dont tend to talk about. I have to be honest its made me appreciate my partner so much more after hearing this from his perspective. He had an emotional time as hes been along for the ride every step of the way.
