Another major hook in the same tournament weekend was Anna Leigh Waters in the women's semifinal match. Down 5-3 in game 3 Anna Bright's overhead smash was easily in by 4 inches and AL and Catherine Parenteau called it out. Horrible call. Bright and Kate Fahey were never quite able to overcome that bad call and lost that match they had fir control of. I would love to drill, but I has no access to a court, nor a friend willing to do drilling. I would have to hire a one-on-one coach. That gets expensive. Like Webby said, I too only have 1 or 2 days a week to paly recreationally. So drilling doesn't fit in my pickleball journey right now. I hope this will change in the next few years though as I transition into retirement.

The bad calls are starting to get out of hand! Hopefully, the pro tours start taking advantage of the high-quality replay systems that are available now (cough.....Close Call Replay....cough cough). 😜 -Webby

Your punch volley at the net needs to get more aggressive, your wrist looks to close to your body and you barely put speed on those attacks at the kitchen. Just a suggestion

This is what 4.0 looks like. Solid playing guys! Everybody’s getting up to the line, mixing up drives and drops, dinking, and having pretty decent hand battles. Lots of floating dinks and drops that could be attacked with some practice on roll volleys and positioning but y’all had some great rallies!

It's soooooo different... The player wouldn't know or have any knowledge of a paddle from a sponsor will fail.. Every local 3.0 knows you can't put anything on your paddle face... Also on Jill Braverman's podcast she said Andre signed a contract with PPA and MLP and they are actually just holding back some cash he would get and he is not actually 'paying' it out of pocket.

You both have the exact same forehand and dink technique, it's genetic! 😂😂😂 You also both hold/use your non-dominant hand in a similar fashion. Great tournament/results Addy was the secret weapon after all!

What a season opener! Addy has really improved and I figure she was not able to play a lot this winter because of school, etc. She's better because of her confidence and assertiveness have increased because she is a year older. She's bigger and stronger and moving really well. She was always comfortable taking balls out of the air but last summer she looked like she was more comfortable doing that from the transition zone. In this tournament she got right up to the line and hit her volleys with more pace. Every team that started out targeting her did not do that for long! So stoked to see you two again. Go get 'em!

How did you guys get bronze? You only lost 1 match the entire day and you guys beat the gold medal team. I think you guys should have gotten gold, but at the very least silver?
@EddieAndWebby
@EddieAndWebby 16 күн бұрын
If there had only been a tie between us and the team we beat, we would have won gold due to the head to head tie breaker. However, since there was a 3-way tie, it gets much tricker. We beat one of the teams, but that team beat the team that beat us. In that case, it all comes down to point differential. Due to us having a few really close games, it ruined our chance of having a good enough point differential to win gold. That's the worst part about round robin tournaments that don't have a playoff round. -Webby

You knew when Kuhn left that MLP wouldn't be the same.. It's not PPA/Dundin's priority. No one brought the passion to pickleball like Kuhn did period.. All the pros should thank him because they are making these salaries because of Kuhn... Players always had great things to say about Kuhn... Not so much for Pardoe.. Rally is fine... Every rally/point MATTERS... No big deal..😊
@Vanessa-pe2xs
@Vanessa-pe2xs 16 күн бұрын
I agree with everything you said, except no one takes into account that servers are at a disadvantage in pickleball...so in rally scoring, the server will lose the point more often. Freezing double penalizes the server.

Thanks for sharing. I say you should keep doing it. If your opponents don’t like it, too bad! If we let other people try and dictate the words we can and can’t use for partner communication, that becomes a slippery slope and I think will be detrimental to the game! - Eddie

No manufactured drama. Also, hard to involve gambling when you're letting 1 team come back. If you are gonna have a freeze, freeze both teams, whether the score is 24-11 or 24-22

Def brave to post games where you’re getting trounced, dude, I like you’re playing spirit! I mean, one thing about your game I noticed is your lack of power shots. You’re not a small dude, so I know you can hit putaways. So many missed opportunities to end points on your end. Work on those putaways! Then you can get 2 points against those dudes 😎 Just playing.
