When the oil pump on any motor is loosing pressure while hot is because of the oil pressure relief spring in the pump is totally weak and releases to much oil pressure. And that will make the low oil pressure while the engine is hot. You can rebuild the oil pump with a kit. And a new spring comes in the kit . But the kit is almost as much as a new oil pump. I would rather just put a new oil pump.

Agreed, not worth the risk and time on a rebuild kit.

I'm doing my 2003 ford ranger xlt 3.0 RWD right now. I'm putting in a oil pump as well and rear main seal. You are right it's a freaking nightmare. I'm looking for a video that shows how to lift the engine so i can take off oil pan. I have an engine hoist with two chains, one is hooked to the alternator bracket and one to the air conditioner bracket. Then i have one chain hooked to each side of the exhaust manifold studs with the nuts on . I'm hoping and praying that works for lifting engine. I'm lifting radiator with the engine at the same time.

I lifted the engine up from the oil pan and just wedged two pieces of wood between engine mounts and frame. Best of luck.

I recently purchased a 1994 GT convertible, vibrant red with white top. It has a somewhat rough idle, with engine lightly shaking. It seems to run great in 70deg weather. However, in the 100deg weather, after driving 15min, I had a problem where it stalled as I parked. It then started very rough and stalled quickly upon hot restart. Starts and runs well again after it cools. Have you noticed if heat/hot weather can affect any of these parts that operate fine in cool weather?… like EGR, IAC, TPS, MAF, PCV, ignition coil? I am preparing to simply replace some of these parts since they are old anyway… Great vids btw. Subbed!
@chasingmustangs
@chasingmustangs 12 күн бұрын
So the parts that cause the most issues are IAC and MAF. The reality is replacing all the parts will give you performance and reliability of a new car. A part that is 30 years old is going to have signs of wear. Many argue that you should troubleshoot and determine what actually failed, a good step for someone on a budget. But a 30 year old car is different, parts fail and degrade. Parts are also affordable, but will become more costly in 10 years. If you want reliability and ease of troubleshooting, replacing the parts you mentioned will help. If you are on a budget, replace the IAC is the first step. The 94 Mustang is now 30 years old, that was like buying a 64 1/2 Mustang 30 years ago. I had people trying to trade their 65 Mustang for my 89 S10 truck 30 years ago (and they also offered cash). Times change and what is popular today will change, but having a proper running 30 year old Mustang is worth more than the best running car today. Just my opinion. Best of luck.

This is at least the 3rd video ive seen of you firing the parts cannon at this problem. Purge value, vent valve and one takimg the canister out. Would you mind showing us what lead you to each of these conclusions and why you felt the need to change all parts.
@chasingmustangs
@chasingmustangs Ай бұрын
LOL, the business owns many Ford Trucks at this time. Four houses go to the gas tank: one for the overfill, one the purge valve, one for the vent sednoid and one for the fuel pump. The vent solenoid will not prevent the truck from filling up. Plus, the vent solenoid will show an error when it is not working on Ford Trucks. Only the purge valve will cause this problem, as it is designed to prevent gas fumes from entering the environment. The purge valve will cause problems even if it has a partial failure. So owning a lot of Ford Trucks of all types has given me the experience to know when to replace the purge valve. I don't want people to waste money, I don't claim to be an expert, so feel free to share something if you have more insight. But I can't afford failure failure and the replacing the purge valve has always resolve the issue. Again, you can always return the part if it does not resolve the issue.

The 2000 Ford Ranger Trailhead is the same thing, just the predecessor that became the Edge & then the Sport. And yes, power windows on the 2006-2011 models were an option. While still a great truck, I’m really not a fan of these trucks past 2003 though, they became extremely outdated afterwards. Ford really pushed it making these like this all the way up until 2011.
